Zenless Zone Zero W-Engine Guide and Basics
Welcome to our Zenless Zone Zero W-Engine Guide, where we’ll cover how they work, signature weapons, and more. While characters are the main focus for the ZZZ meta discussion, having the right W-Engine is also extremely important.
In ZZZ, W-Engines are essentially your character’s weapon.
- Every W-Engine will provide Base ATK, a Main Stat, and a passive.
- Each W-Engine has a rarity: S, A, B.
- W-Engines are also categorized by Fighting Style.
- You can equip any W-Engine onto any Agent, but the passive will only work if the Agent and W-Engine have matching Fighting Styles.
You can level up W-Engines with W-Engine specific resources, which you can farm/receive in game. As you level up the Engine, the Base ATK and Main Stat will increase, up to the max level.
Lastly, you can also increase the passive effect of a W-Engine by “feeding” duplicate copies into one. Every W-Engine passive has 5 levels, starting from 1, and increasing to max after obtaining 4 duplicates.
Signature Weapons (W-Engine)

Furthermore, each Agent will have a “signature weapon.” In games like Genshin Impact, only 5-Star characters had signature weapons. In ZZZ, it appears that every Agent, both S-Rank and A-Rank, have a signature W-Engine.
We can see this as many W-Engines match an Agent’s aesthetic and provide a very synergistic passive effect. When it comes to Banners, the featured Agents on the Limited Banner will match the featured Engines on the W-Engine banner.
As such, try to pull on a banner where you want both the featured S-Rank and A-Rank Agents. This way, if you want to pull on the W-Engine Banner, you’ll be able to get the signature weapons for multiple Agents.
On the first Limited Banner, we have Ellen (S), Anton (A), and Soukaku (A). The W-Engine Banner will also include the signature weapons for each of these Agents: Deep Sea Visitor (Ellen), Bashful Demon (Soukaku), and Drill Rig – Red Axis (Anton).
Zenless Zone Zero All W-Engines List
Let’s go through all of the currently known W-Engines. We’ll be splitting them up by Specialty. Keep in mind these descriptions are from CBT3. For release, W-Engines may change.
Attack W-Engines
Deep Sea Visitor (S) |
ATK: 48/713 | Crit Rate: 9.6%/24% Increases Ice DMG by 25%. Upon hitting an enemy with a Basic Attack, the equipper’s CRIT Rate increases by 10% for 8s. When dealing Ice DMG with a Dash Attack, the equipper’s CRIT Rate increases by an additional 10% for 15s. The duration of each effect is calculated separately. |
Riot Suppressor Mark VI (S) |
ATK: 48/713 | Crit Damage: 19.2%/48% Increases Ether DMG by 25/31.5/38/44.5/50%. Launching an EX Special Attack grants the equipper 8 Charge stacks, stacking up to 8 times. Whenever the equipper’s Basic Attack or Dash Attack deals Ether DMG, consumes a Charge stack and increases the skill’s DMG by 45/56/67/78/90%. |
Steel Cushion (S) |
ATK: 46/684 | Crit Rate: 9.6%/24% Increases Physical DMG by 20/25/30/35/40%. The equipper’s DMG increases by 25/31.5/38/44/50% when attacking the enemy from behind. |
The Brimstone (S) |
ATK: 46/684 | ATK: 12%/30% Increases Fire DMG by 20/25/30/35/40%. Upon hitting an enemy with a Basic Attack, Dash Attack, or Dodge Counter, the equipper’s ATK increases by 2/2.5/3/3.5/4% for 8s, stacking up to 8 times. This effect can trigger once every 0.5s. The duration of each stack is calculated separately. |
Cannon Rotor (A) |
ATK: 40/594 | Crit Rate: 8%/20% Increases CRIT Rate by 8/9.2/10.4/11.6/12.8%. Attacks that land a CRIT on an enemy will inflict an additional 275% of ATK as DMG. This effect can only be triggered once every 8/7.5/7/6.5/6s. |
Drill Rig – Red Axis (A) |
ATK: 42/624 | Crit Damage: 16%/40% When launching an EX Special Attack, Electric DMG from Basic Attacks and Dash Attacks increases by 50/57.5/65/72.5/80% for 10s. This effect can trigger once every 15s. |
Housekeeper (A) |
ATK: 42/624 | Crit Damage: 16%/40% While off-field, Energy Regen increases by 0.45/0.52/0.58/0.65/0.72 per second. When an EX Special Attack hits an enemy, the equipper’s Physical DMG increases by 3/3.5/4/4.4/4.8%, stacking up to 15 times and lasting 1s. Retriggering refreshes duration. |

ATK: 40/594 | ATK: 10%/25% Launching an Assist Attack increases the equipper’s ATK by 16/18.5/21/23.5/25% for 12s. |
Starlight Engine Replica (A) |
ATK: 42/624 | Crit Rate: 8%/20% Increases the equipper’s Physical DMG by 36/41/46.5/52/57.5% for 8s upon hitting an enemy no less than 6 meters away with a Basic Attack or Dash Attack. |
Street Superstar (A) |
ATK: 40/594 | ATK: 10%/25% Whenever a squad member launches a Chain Attack, the equipper gains a Charge stack, stacking up to 3 times. Upon activating their own Ultimate, the equipper consumes all Charge stacks, and each stack increases the skill’s DMG by 15/17.2/19.5/21.7/24%. |

ATK: 46/684 | Energy Regen: 24%/60% Increases Fire DMG by 20/25/30/35/40%. When using an EX Special Attack, the equipper’s Impact increases by 10/12.5/15/17.5/17.5% for 10s, stacking up to 2 times. The duration of each stack is calculated separately. |
The Restrained (S) | ATK: 46/684 | Impact: 7.2%/18% Increases Ice DMG by 20/25/30/35/40%. Basic Attack DMG and Daze increases by 12/15/18/21/24%. |

Fusion Compiler (S) |
ATK: 46/684 | PEN Ratio: 9.6%/24% Increases Electric DMG by 20/25/30/35/40%. When using a Special Attack or an EX Special Attack, the equipper’s Anomaly Proficiency is increased by 25/31/37/43/50 for 8s, stacking up to 3 times. The duration of each stack is calculated separately. |

Weeping Gemini (A) | ATK: 40/594 | ATK: 10%/25% Whenever a squad member inflicts an Attribute Anomaly on an enemy, the equipper gains a buff that increases Anomaly Proficiency by 30/34/38/42/46, stacking up to 4 times. This effect expires when the target recovers from Stun or is defeated. The duration of each stack is calculated separately. |
Magnetic Storm Alpha (B) | ATK: 32/475 | ATK: 8%/20% Accumulating Anomaly Buildup increases the equipper’s Anomaly Mastery by 25/28/32/36/40 for 10s. This effect can trigger once every 20s. |
Magnetic Storm Bravo (B) | ATK: 32/475 | Anomaly Rate: 12%/30% Accumulating Anomaly Buildup increases the equipper’s Anomaly Proficiency by 25/28/32/36/40 for 10s. This effect can only be triggered once every 20s. |

Support W-Engines
Weeping Cradle (S) |
While off-field, Energy Regen increases by 0.6/0.75/0.9/1.05/1.2 per second. Dealing Electric DMG reduces the target’s Electric RES by -15/18/21/24/27% for 3s. During this period, the target’s Electric RES is further reduced by -2.5/3/3.5/4/4.5% every 0.5s, up to a maximum of -15/18/21/24/27%. Repeated triggers only refreshes its duration without refreshing the DMG increase effect. Passive effects of the same name do not stack. |
Bashful Demon (A) |
Increases Ice DMG by 15/17.5/20/22/24%. When launching an EX Special Attack, all squad members’ ATK increases by 2/2.3/2.6/2.9/3.2% for 12s, stacking up to 4 times. Retriggering refreshes duration. Passive effects of the same name do not stack. |
Slice of Time (A) |
Any squad members’ Dodge Counter, EX Special Attack, Assist Attack, or Chain Attack respectively generates 20/23/26/29/32 (Dodge) | 25/28.5/32/35.5/40 (Special) | 30/34.5/39/43.5/48 (Assist) | 35/40/45/50/55 (Chain) more Decibels and generates 0.7/0.8/0.9/1/1.1 Energy for the equipper. The Vault (A) |
When equipped, dealing Ether DMG using an EX Special Attack, Chain Attack, or Ultimate increases all squad members’ DMG against the target by 15/17.5/20/22/24% and increases the equipper’s Energy Regen by 0.5/0.58/0.65/0.72/0.8 per second for 2s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack. |
Unfettered Game Ball (A) |
Whenever the equipper’s attack triggers an Attribute Counter effect, increases all squad members’ CRIT Rate by 12/13.5/15.5/17.5/20% for 12s. The bonuses triggered by the same type of passive effects do not stack. |
Reverb Mark I (B) |
Launching an EX Special Attack increases all squad members’ Impact by 8/9/10/11/12% for 10s. This effect can trigger once every 20s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack. |
Reverb Mark II (B) |
Launching an EX Special Attack or Chain Attack increases all squad members’ Anomaly Mastery and Anomaly Proficiency by 10/12/13/15/16 for 10s. This effect can trigger once every 20s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack. |
Reverb Mark III (B) |
Launching a Chain Attack or Ultimate increases all squad members’ ATK by 8/9/10/11/12% for 10s. This effect can trigger once every 20s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack. |
Defense W-Engines
Big Cylinder (A) |
Reduces DMG taken by 7.5/8.5/9.5/10.5/12%. After being attacked, the next attack to hit an enemy will trigger a critical hit and deal 600/690/780/870/960% of the equipper’s DEF as additional DMG. This effect can be triggered once every 7.5s. |
Bunny Band (A) |
Increases Max HP by 8/9.2/10.4/11.6/12.8%. Increases the equipper’s ATK by 10/11.5/13/14.5/16% when they are shielded. |
Original Transmorpher (A) |
Increases Max HP by 8%. When attacked, the equipper’s Impact is increased by 10% for 12s. |
Spring Embrace (A) |
Takes 7.5/8.5/9.5/10.5/12% less DMG.When attacked, the equipper has their Energy Generation Rate increased by 10/11.5/13/14.5/16% for 12s. When the equipper goes off-field, this buff will be transferred to the new character on the field and has its duration refreshed. |
Identity Base (B) |
When attacked, the equipper’s DEF increases by 20/23/26/29/32% for 8s. |
