MSI Bracket Stage Results

MSI Bracket Stage Results

Week 2 of MSI has commenced as we saw some of the best teams in the world try to advance through the MSI event and get to the finals. This week, we saw the likes of GenG battle versus G2,T1 against MAD and JD versus GG to name a few. If you’re looking for last weeks results, you can find them here!

We’re over halfway through the event, and unfortunately, this week of games were extremely one-sided, apart from that one throw which made every EU fan lose hope. Anyway, let’s get into the matches we saw this week. If you wish to learn how to play any of them, check out their Mobalytics Champion Page for builds, tips, tricks, and much more to help you get started.

As we will be showing you the results, it is obvious that there are spoilers ahead. If you’ve missed some of the games, or don’t want to be spoiled, it’s probably best not to read ahead.

Day 1:

  • Gen.G 3-1 G2 Esports

In this game, we saw G2 have a dominating start, but the throw of the year and then losing every game afterwards. Don’t really have much to say, but the enemy tilted G2 and they lost from there with poor performance in every game afterwards. Oh yeah, lets not mention that 16 minute loss.

Day 2:

  • T1 3-0 MAD Lions

For this game, I don’t think anyone expected any different. Another dominating set of games by T1 as they dominated MAD and showed truly who the better team is. I just wish this series lasted a bit longer, but it is what it is.

Day 3:

  • Bilibili Gaming 3-0 Cloud9

In the third day of matches, another expected series with another set of dominating games. It feels like I’m repeating myself a lot in this article, but the truth is all these games were pretty vanilla with no real upset (apart from day 1)!

Day 4:

  • JD Gaming 3-0 Golden Guardians

JD emerged victorious, having secured a dominant 3-0 victory over GG. Today’s games went as expected: GG losing to the superior JD gaming.

Day 5:

  • Gen.G 2 – 3T1
  • G2 Esports 3 – 0 MAD Lions

Day 5 of games were a bit cooler than some of the other days, we saw GenG make some special plays (especially near their own nexus), but T1 showed a dominating performance in betting them and becoming the favourites of the event. We almost the ultimate comeback, but unfortunately, it wasn’t to be. Don’t ask me why G2 picked Yasuo in their Bo5. Today was the most entertaining day of the event so far.

Day 6:

  • Bilibili Gaming 0 – 3 JD Gaming
  • Cloud9 3 – 1 Golden Guardians

In the last day, it was another unsurprising set of games, but we finally see the standings heading into the next stage of the game. It was funny to see two NA teams facing off against each other on the MSI stage.

Conclusion

What else is there to say? EU and NA performed as expected and consistently dominated this week. After what was frankly boring week, we will see what happens in week 3 of MSI and see who takes home that MSI trophy one step further. As always, you can find other news and League of Legends content on the Mobalytics blog.
