OP Junglers to Climb With in Patch 14.6

It’s Patch 14.6, and the Jungle role continues to show a dominating performance and is one of the more impactful roles in LoL. Due to how impactful this role is, you must pick a strong champion who can easily dominate the enemy and take those objectives.

In this Mobalytics article, we will discuss 5 of the best picks for the Jungle role in League of Legends. If you wish to master these champions or any others within the League of Legends roster, be sure to visit Mobalytics’ Champion Page.

1. Ivern

Ivern is the only AP champion on our list today, and he is one of the few good AP Carries in the Jungle role right now. Ivern is more of a utility Jungler, but with the increased popularity of damage dealers in the Top Lane and Support role, having someone who can peel and protect is crucial.

He has good skirmishing power throughout all stages of the game, good objective control with Daisy, and can take those grubs at level 4 on his own. He also has multiple CC tools in his kit which help him gank his allies. In the mid-game, he is good as he can peel and protect his allies with his shield.

Ivern Mid Patch Data

  • Ivern is in a very fair state right now. So that is one of the reasons why he isn’t getting buffed nor nerfed.
  • He had one of the best win rates this patch for Junglers, sitting at 53.79%.
  • Although, he is one of the least popular meta picks due to his unique playstyle. He had a 1.74% pick rate.
  • The only reason someone would ban Ivern is if they got destroyed by him in a previous game. He had a 0.73% ban rate.
  • And finally, Ivern was played a total of 32,455 times at the time of writing this article.

2. Rek’Sai

After Rek’Sai recent changes and bug fixes, she is now one of the strongest Junglers in the game. I recommend that you try her out in normal games before taking her into the ranked game mode, though because she does feel different compared to before, and you should practice her a bit before playing her in ranked anyway.

So, what makes Rek’Sai good at the moment? First, she has good skirmishing power and can 1v1 basically all the top meta Junglers right now. This is crucial as a lot of Junglers fight over the Void Grubs. Second, she has good ganking and counter-ganking power with her tunnels, which allow her to dodge wards and terrain. All-in-all, she is a fun and strong Jungler—you could be abusing this patch!

Rek’Sai Mid Patch Data

  • As we talked about earlier, Rek’Sai received some changes in previous patches, so it doesn’t look like she will be getting buffs or nerfs in this patch!
  • Rek’Sai’s win rate has gone up compared to previous patches. On patch 14.5, her win rate was 53.63%.
  • She is in a much better spot right now, which is why her pick rate has increased to 3.33%.
  • There is no point really banning her. She had a 2.92% ban rate.
  • Rek’Sai has been played over 61,000 times at the time of writing this article

3. Viego

Viego is back on our list of best Junglers to climb with on Patch 14.6. While he has been quite good for some time, we want to showcase him this week as one of the stronger champions this patch, especially with other meta picks like Kayn getting nerfed. Viego is a skirmish-heavy Jungler who can take over the game once he gets a kill or two.

He is really good in those early skirmishes, especially around the Void Grubs at level 4, and he can win most fights, or take them uncontested easily. Outside of that, he has good objective control and can also solo the Dragons or Rift Herald when they spawn. If he can get one early kill, he can use his item and skirmishing advantage to dominate any opponent!

  • I am honestly surprised that Viego isn’t getting any direct changes in this patch. He is pretty strong, so I think Riot missed the mark on this patch.
  • Viego doesn’t have the best win rate this patch, it was only 52.17%.
  • However, his pick and play rate is quite high at 11.87%.
  • I am also surprised by how low his ban rate is right now: it is only 3.45%.
  • He was played over 221,000 times so far this patch.

4. Master Yi

Master Yi is one of the best beginner Junglers in the game, and if you’re looking to learn the jungle role, now is the best time as he happens to be really strong in the current meta. With just 1 kill, Master Yi can take over the game and be a real threat to anyone who tries to fight him.

In the current LoL meta, taking objectives is incredibly important. Master Yi can solo these objectives without the help of his team. He is also good in 1v1s, so he can fight the enemy Jungler if they try to fight him for them. Another benefit of Master Yi is his Q, which can be used to dodge CC and key damaging items from the enemy Jungler or opponents.

Master Yi Mid Patch Data

  • Master Yi is a really hard champion to balance, as he is either OP or really weak. I don’t think Riot will buff or nerf him anytime soon, as doing so would jeopardize the state of the game!
  • He has one of the better win rates this patch, being the 7th highest with a large amount of games played. He had a 53.66% win rate.
  • Master Yi is one of the most popular Low-Elo picks, but in Emerald+ he had a 6.97% pick rate.
  • He is the go-to ban for a lot of players. Master Yi had a 13.38% ban rate. I did say he was OP, and players tend to agree!
  • Master Yi is also one of the most popular picked champions, sitting at 130,000 games at the time of writing this article.

5. Kha’Zix

The final Jungler on our list today is Kha’Zix. Kha’Zix is a very strong dueler, especially when the enemy is isolated as his Q deals enhanced damage. He has good carry potential, and getting one kill can allow you to snowball pretty easily. A good Kha’Zix will look to invade the enemy and fight them quite a lot.

Kha’Zix also has great objective control and can take those early grubs quite easily. He will usually win 1v1 fights if he has a small lead and if the enemy is isolated, too. Outside of objective control, he can gank his allies and take down enemies who are over-extended or squishy pretty quickly, thanks to his insane amount of burst and chase-down potential.

Kha’Zix Mid Patch Data

  • Kha’Zix hasn’t been updated in quite a while. He is really balanced, even though he can be really strong in the right hands. We don’t see him getting changes any time soon.
  • His win rate on patch 14.5 was 8.39%.
  • Kha’Zix is one of the more popular Junglers right now. His pick rate is 8.39%. This pick rate is most likely down to his current in game strength and his overall champion design.
  • So far, he has one of the highest ban rates on our list, at 5.25%. This is higher than some champions because of his obnoxious playstyle when he is ahead.
  • On patch 14.5, Kha’Zix was picked a total of 156,000 times.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, climbing in LoL can be made easier by playing strong champions with good skirmishing power. Make sure you pick one of these 5 Junglers if you’re looking to climb this Patch!
