Diablo 4 Legendary Aspects List

Legendary Aspects are the backbone of every build in Diablo 4. These are the bread-and-butter powers that make up and define a character.

Instead of being tied to a particular piece of gear, Legendary Aspects can be found in multiple different forms, and come at varying degrees of power.

Not every Aspect is created equal, so you’ll have to continue to grind if you want to find the best one!

Codex of Power

The Codex of Power is a unique addition to the Diablo franchise. Many builds rely heavily on a specific piece (or pieces) of gear in order to function. Missing that essential slot can often be a night or day difference, and often determine whether a build is playable at all.

Diablo 4 makes this much more approachable by linking Legendary Aspects to their own unique dungeon. Once a dungeon is completed, you’ll permanently (for that Season, or Eternal) unlock the corresponding power into your Codex. However, this power will always come at its weakest base form, so you’ll still need to farm for better upgrades.

While not every Aspect is included, many of them are, allowing players to jump-start most builds just by running a few dungeons. Even the lowest roll of a critical ability is valuable

Types of Aspects

Every Aspect falls under a specific category. This determines which powers can be applied to each slot, and limits how many Aspects of the same category can be used. Most Aspects can be found on many different types of gear. For example, you could find the same Aspect on an Amulet or Chest Armor.

If you find an Aspect you like, but it’s on the wrong slot, no problem! Simply visit the Occultist to extract the Aspect so you can apply it to another piece of gear. Just keep in mind, once you imprint an Aspect, you won’t be able to extract it again later. If you find a perfect roll on an Aspect early on, you may want to save it for the future.

When theory-crafting a build, it’s important to consider which Aspect will fill the Amulet slot. What’s unique about Amulets is they apply a 50% power boost to the Aspect within; allowing players an even stronger version of their most desired ability! Additionally, Two-Handed Weapons provide a 100% power boost to help compensate for the missing off-hand slot. Always take these into account so you can make the most of what you’ve got!

Note: During Seasonal play, new Aspects are introduced as rewards for completing chapters of the Season Journey, along with easy access to some existing non-Codex Aspects. Once unlocked, these are essentially added to your Codex for the Season. These Aspects will still remain listed under “Drop Aspects”, but will be noted if they’re offered as a Season Reward.

Generic Codex Aspects

Aspect of Disobedience: You gain [0.6 – 1.1]%[+] increased Armor for 4 seconds when you deal any form of damage, stacking up to [36.0 – 66.0]%[+].

Aspect of Inner Calm: Deal [5.0 – 10.0]%[x] increased damage for each second you stand still, up to 30%[x].

Aspect of Might: Basic Skills grant 20% Damage Reduction for [2.0 – 6.0] seconds.

Aspect of Retribution: Distant enemies have a 8% chance to be Stunned for 2 seconds when they hit you. You deal [10 – 20]%[x] increased damage to Stunned enemies.

Aspect of Shared Misery: Lucky Hit: When you hit a Crowd Controlled enemy, there is up to a [30 – 50]% chance for that Crowd Control effect to spread to another unaffected enemy.

Aspect of the Deflecting Barrier: While you have a Barrier active, there is a [7 – 13]% chance to ignore incoming direct damage from Distant enemies.

Aspect of the Expectant: Attacking enemies with a Basic Skill increases the damage of your next Core Skill cast by [5 – 10]%[x], up to 30%[x].

Aspect of the Protector: Damaging an Elite enemy grants you a Barrier absorbing up to [30 – 13,609] damage for 10 seconds. This effect can only happen every 30 seconds.

Aspect of the Umbral: Restore [1 – 4] of your Primary Resource when you Crowd Control an enemy.

Edgemaster’s Aspect: Skills deal up to [10 – 20]%[x] increased damage based on your available Primary Resource when cast, receiving the maximum benefit while you have full Primary Resource.

Eluding Aspect: Becoming Injured while Crowd Controlled grants you Unstoppable for 4 seconds. This effect has a [20 – 40] second Cooldown.

Ghostwalker Aspect: While Unstoppable and for 4 seconds after, you gain [10 – 25]%[+] increased Movement Speed and can move freely through enemies.

Needleflare Aspect: Thorns damage deal has a [20 – 40]% chance to deal damage to all enemies around you.

Rapid Aspect: Basic Skills gain [15 – 30]%[+] Attack Speed.

Wind Striker Aspect: Critical Strikes grant [8.0 – 16.0]%[+] Movement Speed for 1 second, up to 6 seconds.

Generic Drop Aspects

Accelerating Aspect: Critical Strikes with Core Skills increase your Attack Speed by [15 – 25]%[+] for 5 seconds.

  • Type: Offensive

Aspect of Audacity: When there are at least 5 Close enemies, Stun them for [2 – 4] seconds. This can only occur once every 20 seconds.

  • Type: Utility

Aspect of Elements: Gain [20 – 30]%[x] increased damage to a set of damage types for 7 seconds. This effect alternates between 2 sets: Fire, Lightning, and Physical. Cold, Poison, and Shadow.

Aspect of Slaughter: You gain 20% Movement Speed. Lose this bonus for [2.5 – 5.0] seconds after taking damage.

Aspect of the Crowded Sage: You Heal for [0 – 181] Life per second for each Close enemy, up to [4 – 605] Life per second.

  • Type: Defensive

Assimilation Aspect: You have 8%[+] increased Dodge Chance versus enemies affected by Damage Over Time effects. When you Dodge you gain [5 – 10] of your Primary Resource.

  • Type: Resource

Conceited Aspect: Deal [15 – 25]%[x] increased damage while you have a Barrier active.

  • Type: Offensive

Craven Aspect: You gain [20 – 40]%[x] increased Movement Speed when moving away from Slowed or Chilled enemies.

  • Type: Mobility

Exploiter’s Aspect: You have 20%[+] increased Crowd Control Duration. While enemies are Unstoppable, you deal [20 – 40]%[x] increased damage to them.

  • Type: Utility

Protecting Aspect: When hit while not Healthy, a magical bubble is summoned around you for [3.0 – 5.0] seconds. While standing in the bubble, Players are Immune. Can only occur once every 90 seconds.

  • Type: Defensive

Smiting Aspect: You have a [10 – 20]%[x] increased Critical Strike Chance against Injured enemies. While you are Healthy, you gain [20 – 40]%[x] increased Crowd Control Duration.

  • Type: Offensive

Starlight Aspect: Gain [20 – 40] of your Primary Resource for every 25% of your Life that you Heal.

Aspect of Ancestral Echoes: Lucky Hit: While Call of the Ancients is on your Action Bar, damaging enemies with Leap, Upheaval, or Whirlwind have up to a [50 – 60]% chance to summon an Ancient to perform the same Skill.

Aspect of Ancestral Force: Hammer of the Ancients quakes outward and its damage is increased by [5 – 15]%[x]

Aspect of Anemia: Lucky Hit: Direct damage against Bleeding enemies has up to a [20 – 30]% chance to Stun them for 2 seconds.

Aspect of Berserk Ripping: Whenever you deal direct damage while Berserking, inflict [20 – 30]% of the Base damage dealt as additional Bleeding damage over 5 seconds.

Aspect of Bul-Kathos: Leap creates an Earthquake that deals [24 – 7,530] Physical damage over 4 seconds. While standing in Earthquakes, you gain [15 – 25]% increased Damage Reduction.

Aspect of the Iron Warrior: Iron Skin grants Unstoppable, and [18 – 28]% Damage Reduction.

Brawler’s Aspect: Enemies damaged by Kick or Charge will explode if they are killed within the next 2 seconds, dealing [60 – 16,331] damage to surrounding enemies.

Death Wish Aspect: Gain [26- 7,712] Thorns while Berserking.

Earthstriker’s Aspect: After swapping weapons 8 times, your next Skill will Overpower and deal [30 – 50]%[x] increased Overpower damage.

Iron Blood Aspect: Gain [2.0 – 4.0]% Damage Reduction for each Nearby Bleeding enemy up to [10 – 20%] maximum.

Relentless Berserker’s Aspect: Lucky Hit: Damaging an enemy with a Core Skill has up to a [22 – 40]% chance to extend the duration of Berserking by 2 seconds. Double this duration if it was a Critical Strike.

Aspect of Ancestral Charge: Charge calls forth 4 Ancients who also Charge, dealing [75 – 125]% of normal damage.

Battle-Mad Aspect: Gain Berserking for [2.0 – 3.5] seconds after swapping weapons 10 times.

Bear Clan Berserker’s Aspect: Killing an enemy while Berserking has a 40% chance to grant [16 – 32]% increased Cooldown Reduction to your Brawling Skills for 2 seconds.

  • Type: Resource

Bold Chieftain’s Aspect: Whenever you cast a Shout Skill, its Cooldown is reduced by [1.0 – 1.9] seconds per Nearby enemy, up to a maximum of 6 seconds.

Devilish Aspect: After generating 100 Fury your next Core Skill creates a Dust Devil that deals [10 – 3,448] damage to enemies behind the target.

Dust Devil’s Aspect: Whirlwind leaves behind Dust Devils that deal [9 – 2,903] damage to surrounding enemies.

  • Type: Offensive

Earthquake Aspect: Ground Stomp creates an Earthquake damaging enemies for [24 – 7,530] Physical damage over 4 seconds. While standing in Earthquakes, you deal [15 – 25]%[x] increased damage.

Luckbringer Aspect: Gain [12 – 20]%[x] increased Lucky Hit Chance while all damage bonuses from the Walking Arsenal Key Passive are active.

Skullbreaker’s Aspect: Stunning a Bleeding enemy deals [22 – 40]% of their total Bleeding amount to them as Physical damage.

  • Type: Offensive

Steadfast Berserker’s Aspect: Lucky Hit: Up to a 35% chance to gain [6 – 2,903] Fortify whenever you deal direct damage while Berserking.

Wanton Rupture Aspect: Your Rupture does not remove the Bleeding damage from enemies. This can occur once every [30 – 40] seconds.

Weapon Master’s Aspect: Your Weapon Mastery Skills have an additional Charge. Lucky Hit: Damaging an enemy with a Weapon Mastery Skill has up to a [37 – 55]% chance to Stun them for 2 seconds.

Windlasher Aspect: Casting Double Swing twice within 2 seconds creates a Dust devil that deals [9 – 2,903] damage to enemies behind the target.

Druid Codex Aspects

Aspect of Cyclonic Force: Cyclone Armor also provides Physical Damage Reduction. In addition, Cyclone Armor will also be applied to all Nearby Allies.

Aspect of Mending Stone: The duration of Earthen Bulwark is increased by 6 seconds. In addition, killing an enemy with Earth Skills replenishes [2 – 907] of your active Earthen Bulwark’s Barrier.

Aspect of the Rampaging Werebeast: The duration of Grizzly Rage is increased by [1 – 5] seconds. In addition, Critical Strikes while Grizzly Rage is active increase your Critical Strike Damage by 10%[x] for the duration, up to a maximum of 200%[x].

Aspect of the Unsatiated: After killing an enemy with Shred, your next Werewolf Skill generates [20 – 30]%[x] more Spirit and deals [20 – 30]%[x] increased damage.

Aspect of the Ursine Horror: Pulverize is now also an Earth Skill. After casting Pulverize, tectonic spikes continue to deal [14 – 4,536] damage over 2 seconds.

Ballistic Aspect: When you have Fortify your Earth Skills gain +2 Ranks.

Mangled Aspect: When you are struck as a Werebear you have a [30 – 40]% chance to gain 3 Spirit.

Nighthowler’s Aspect: Blood Howl increases Critical Strike Chance by [5.0 – 10.0]%[+]. In addition, Blood Howl also affects Nearby Companions and Players for 3 seconds.

Overcharged Aspect: Lucky Hit: Up to a [10 – 20]% chance when dealing Lightning damage to overload the target for 3 seconds, causing any direct damage you deal to them to pulse. [28 – 6,351] additional damage to surrounding enemies.

Shepherd’s Aspect: Core Skills deal an additional [6.0 – 10.0]%[x] damage for each active Companion.

Skinwalker’s Aspect: When you use a Shapeshifting Skill that changes your form, gain [3 – 1,089] Life. If you are at full Life, gain the same amount as Fortify.

Stormclaw’s Aspect: Critical Strikes with Shred deal [20 – 30]% of the damage dealt as Lightning damage to the target and surrounding enemies.

Stormshifter’s Aspect: While Hurricane is active, gain +2 Ranks to your Shapeshifting Skills.

Vigorous Aspect: Gain [10.0 – 15.0]% Damage Reduction while Shapeshifted into a Werewolf.

Druid Drop Aspects

Aspect of Metamorphic Stone: Boulder is now a Core Skill and costs 50 Spirit to cast dealing [100 – 120]% of normal damage.

Aspect of Natural Balance: Casting a Storm Skill grants your Earth Skills [30.0 – 45.0]%[x] Critical Strike Damage for 4 seconds. Casting a Earth Skill increases the Critical Strike Chance of Storm Skills by [8.0 – 12.0]%[+] for 4 seconds.

  • Type: Offensive
  • Season 2 “Chapter III” Reward

Aspect of Nature’s Savagery: Werewolf Skills function as Storm Skills and Werebear Skills function as Earth Skills for the Nature’s Fury Key Passive.

  • Type: Offensive

Aspect of the Aftershock: Landslide’s earth pillars each strike a second time and deal an additional [6 – 12]% bonus damage per hit.

  • Type: Offensive

Aspect of the Alpha: Your Wolf Companions are now Werewolf Companions. Werewolf Companions deal [90 – 115]%[x] additional damage and can spread Rabies.

  • Type: Offensive

Aspect of the Blurred Beast: While dashing, Shred seeks out Nearby Poisoned enemies instantly dealing [70 – 100]%[x] of the Poisoning damage to them.

  • Type: Offensive

Aspect of the Dark Howl: Debilitating Roar is now a Werewolf Skill. In addition, Debilitating Roar will Immobilize Poisoned enemies for [2.0 – 4.0] seconds.

  • Type: Utility

Aspect of the Stampede: Gain 1 additional Companion. In addition, your Companion Skills deal [16 – 26]%[x] bonus damage.

  • Type: Offensive
  • Season 2 “Chapter II” Reward

Aspect of the Trampled Earth: Trample now summons 6 Landslide pillars of earth during its duration that deal [70 – 80]% normal damage. Trample is now also a Nature Magic and Earth Skill.

Aspect of the Wildrage: Your Companions also gain the bonuses from the Bestial Rampage Key Passive when you do.

  • Type: Offensive

Balanced Aspect: Increase your Maximum Spirit by [60 – 80] and Spirit Generation by 20%[x] while Grizzly Rage is active.

  • Type: Resource

Dire Wolf’s Aspect: Grizzly Rage now Shapeshifts you into a Dire Werewolf. As a Dire Werewolf you gain [15 – 25]%[+] Movement Speed instead of Damage Reduction and a [30 – 50]% Spirit cost reduction bonus. In addition, kills Heal you for 10% of your Maximum Life.

  • Type: Offensive

Earthguard Aspect: Gain [15 – 25]% bonus amount to your next Earthen Bulwark for each enemy you Crowd Control up to a maximum of 100%.

  • Type: Defensive

Lightning Dancer’s Aspect: Lightning Storm Critical Strikes spawn 3 Dancing Bolts that seek enemies in the area dealing [28 – 7,258] Lightning damage.

  • Type: Offensive

Mighty Storm’s Aspect: The Earthen Might Key Passive also applies to your Storm Skills.

  • Type: Offensive
