Overview

The Strongest Protection Warrior PvE Build in WoW: Forever

Hey everyone! LexD here and as a WoW: Classic veteran and TBC multiglad, I wanted to create a build guide as far as what the best endgame Protection Warrior PvE build will be and the best route for leveling to get there.

The specs below are going to be what level 60 Warrior PvE builds are absolutely going to lean towards, with some slight variation here and there. I think the main two variations of Protection Warriors will either prioritize getting 5/5 Enrage or go for a more mitigation-focused build with more points spent in the Protection tree.

QUICK NOTE: Will be updating this guide with gear pieces and more details at higher levels as I play through the game on release!

Strengths And Weaknesses

Protection Warriors have a much-improved leveling experience (damage buffed, survivability is strong)
Great single-target DPS with Revenge and Improved Revenge combined with Shield Block
Very, very tanky once you have Shield Block
Great at holding threat, tanking big pulls, etc.

No real magic damage mitigation
AoE threat works on Warrior but is not as strong as other tank classes

Protection Warrior PvE Build: Levels 10-19 Overview

During your earliest levels you'll be using Charge + Rend + Heroic Strike as your main damage abilities, but once you get Defensive Stance and Improved Revenge you will spend much of your time spamming Shield Block + Revenge for damage.

Protection Warrior PvE Build: 10-19 Talents

Firstly, we go 5/5 Shield Specialization for some increased Chance to Block, but more importantly, a 100% chance to generate 5 Rage when you block. Super strong once you get Shield Block, which you will be spamming a LOT with this build for Revenge activations.

Speaking of which, Revenge hits hard, but hits even harder with Improved Revenge. You will spend most of your time in Defensive Stance using this on cooldown as you proc it; it deals a LOT of single target damage, to the point that you may top DPS charts as you are tanking in dungeons (happened occasionally in the beta)

After that, we hop over to the Fury tree to start grabbing Cruelty, 2 points for now but you will fill it out 5/5 at this point.
