What are Addons?
Addons are community made modifications that change and improve how World of Warcraft Forever looks and plays. Officially supported by Blizzard and run through the game's Interface folder. Think of addons as quality of life tools. The default WoW UI is very basic, and addons let you customize almost everything.
What addons do in WoW Forever:
- Questing & Leveling: Addons like Questie show you quest giver locations, objective areas on your map and minimap, and tooltips for quest mobs and items. It makes it much easier to know where to go without reading every quest log entry.
- UI & Inventory: Addons like Bagnon combine all your bags into one searchable bag, Bartender4 lets you move and resize your action bars, and Titan Panel adds useful info to your top bar.
- Combat & Dungeons: Addons like Deadly Boss Mods (DBM) warn you about boss mechanics, Recount/Details! shows your damage, and Omen tracks threat so you don't pull aggro in dungeons.
- Quality of Life: Addons like Leatrix Plus add quest automation, auto selling junk and repairing gear. Auctioneer helps with gold making and Postal makes mail easier.
- Immersion: If you want to actually enjoy the story while leveling, Dialogue UI replaces the default quest box with a cinematic window with large character portraits and animated text so quests are easier to read. Pair it with Spoken Quests, which adds character driven AI voice acting to quest dialogue so you can listen to quest givers instead of just reading.
In short, without addons you are playing with a minimal interface. With the right addons, you control how your game looks, how you get information, and how efficiently you can level and play the game.
In this guide I will show you step by step on how to get started with installing addons and where to find them for WoW Forever.
