Overview

Welcome to the WoW Forever Fury Warrior Guide. This guide shows you the recommended talents for your journey to level 30 in the Classic Forever Beta as well as our expected level 60 build. The Fury Warrior is the king of melee DPS, dealing massive blows whether using a two-handed weapon or dual wielding. You'll build rage to use your abilities and unleash powerful attacks destroying enemies in seconds.

Fury is a solid leveling build, but really shines in the endgame. If you want to play Arms instead check out our Arms Warrior Leveling Guide.

For the full rundown of what's new for the class overall, see our Warrior Class Overview & Changes.

Disclaimer

This is a work in progress and will be updated with complete information during the BETA and launch of WoW Forever. The final guide cover the following: BIS equipment, Talent Trees, Rotations, Professions and more.

Talents

Level 30 Talents (0,21,0)

All in on the Fury Tree so you can get Death Wish.

  1. 5 Points into Cruelty, then 5 into Unbridled Wrath
  2. Put 3 points into Cleave and 2 Points into Boundless Rage. (Boundless Rage isn't going to be super beneficial but our options are limited up to this point. You can absolutely put these 2 points elsewhere, such as 1 into Piercing Howl and Blood Craze or wherever you think may benefit you the most)
  3. Put 5 points into Enrage if you plan on using a two-handed weapon, which I recommend. If you want to dual wield it's better to put 4 points into Dual Wield Specialization and 1 point into Raging Blows. Keep in mind Whirlwind shouldn't be unlocking until level 36 and will be out of reach in this BETA. Raging Blows is only going to provide you the 2 less rage for Cleave. If you don't plan on playing in groups much you may be better off just putting all 5 points into Dual Wield Specialization.
  4. Finally put your last point into Death Wish.

Level 60 Talents (17/34/7)

Here's a look at what we think the level 60 Fury Warrior Talent Tree will look like. As mentioned above this guide will be updated as we go through the beta and during launch to include any other Endgame Fury Warrior Talent Trees, along with all the other information you need to excel in the endgame and Raids as a Warrior.

Suggested Races

Playable Races

Alliance - Human, Night Elf, Dwarf, Gnome & Skyborn

Horde - Orc, Tauren, Troll, Undead & Skyborn

Recommended Races

Dwarf provides 3 useful abilities and is probably the best race for leveling to 30 as Alliance. Mace Specilization gives you 1% crit when using a mace. Stone Form grants you immunities and Physical Damage Reduction and Big Game Hunter increases you damage to beasts (which you'll see a lot of while leveling up)

If you plan on doing a lot of world PvP or Battlegrounds during the BETA, consider taking Human or Gnome instead. Human gives you Perception, which allows you to find those pesky Rogues and Druids before they sneak up on you, as well as Will to Survive to remove stuns. Gnome has Escape Artist which will give you immunity to Roots and Snares.

Troll is great since you’ll be fighting a lot of beasts in the early game and they have 5% increased damage to beasts. Their Berserking buff grants you 10% attack speed for 10 seconds and they also have Rapid Regeneration which allows you to restore 50% of your health every 3 minutes. Add in Regeneration which allows 10% of health regen to continue in combat and you have an incredible race for leveling up your Fury Warrior.

Orc is the other competitive horde race choice. Blood Fury boosts your Attack Power by 10% for 15 seconds. Shatter Curse grants immunity to Curses, Banes and reduces Magical Damage taken. They specialize in Axes, gaining 1% Critical Hit Chance and have Hardiness to decrease stuns by 20%

Gameplay

The primary Skills you’ll use are Charge, Rend, Heroic Strike & Cleave. Against single targets Rend and Heroic Strike are you best bet for damage per Rage. When you have multiple enemies you can lean more into Cleave to take them down.

  1. Charge into battle to generate rage and close big gaps. Charging from pack to pack is one of the Warrior's most important ways to get through quests and zones quickly.
  2. Open up with a Rend so you get the max value from it's bleed duration and procced to Heroic Strike, Cleave depending on how many enemies your fighting.
  3. Make sure to keep up your Battle Shout for the huge Attack Power buff, and don't be hesitant to use Demoralizing Shout or Thunder Clap when fighting multiple enemies to reduce your damage taken.

Execute is a great skill to finish off enemies at low health. But it's at the cost of using all your Rage. This can be a bit of a "kiss curse" mechanic for Warriors, especially when solo questing. Find balance between using it when you need something to die quickly and refraining from using it when you'd rather store up some Rage to hit the next mob with some big attacks right away.

Still deciding between Fury and Arms? Our tier list ranks every spec for leveling and endgame.

Things to Remember

Visit your Class Trainer often to get your new skills, levels 4, 15, 20 & 24 will unlock, Charge, Demoralizing Shout, Cleave and Execute respectively.

Once you get Deathwish at level 30 don't forget to use it often, especially in Dungeon groups!

Keep your Battle Shout up at all times, letting this fall off is a big mistake a lot of Warriors make when they're first starting out on the class.

Stat Priority

A Fury Warriors Favorite Stat is Strength and Agility. Strength gives you a huge Attack Power boost, nearly 2 Attack Power per point of Strength. Agility increases Critical Hit Chance and gives you Armor as well. Always look for items with Strength/Agility on them as the priority and take Stamina when it shows up.

Group Play & Dungeons

In group play you'll be pulling more than 1 mob at a time so leaning into Cleave is going to allow you to do great AOE damage. As a Warrior you don't have to worry about pulling threat off the tank as much and it will even help you generate more rage as you're taking damage. Try not to overdue it, but pulling a mob off the tank while going through quests or dungeons can be a massive DPS boost for you as well.

Remember in group play you're the one bringing Demoralizing Shout and Thunder Clap to the party. Putting these debuffs up on enemies will help your tank survive.

Tips

Food and First Aid are you best friend on this class. Make sure to train First Aid early and keep your bandages relevant to your level. You'll be stopping to eat and bandage often before charging back into your next encounter.

Macros

The most important macro tip for Warriors it to add /startattack macros onto the abilities you use often. I even have it as a stand alone button for engaging with enemies. Here are some examples:

Heroic Strike/Start Attack

#showtooltip Heroic Strike

/cast Heroic Strike

/startattack

Charge/Start Attack

#showtooltip Charge

/startattack

/cast Battle Stance

/cast Charge
