Season 3 of The Bazaar introduces a brand new event known as the Greenheart Expedition. In this exclusive and unique event, players get to traverse the unknown, taking on a high-risk high-reward adventure.
Those who manage to come out on the other side will be rewarded with a choice between powerfully mysterious items, known as Legendary Relics. These offer a wide range of unique abilities that are sure to become the heart and center of some incredible builds.
Players won't always have access to this exciting experience, but can take additional steps to track down the opportunity.
In order to access the Greenheart Expedition, players will need to obtain the Temple Expedition Ticket. These can be found through a variety of ways, typically as drops from PvE Encounters or certain events.
You do have a small chance to get the Temple Expedition Ticket from the Mountain Pass event, or by selecting the Loot option from the Jungle Ruins.
The Aerodrome event also sells an Expedition Ticket for 20 gold. If you can find the event and are able to spare the gold, it's one way to guarantee your entry, assuming you survive until Day 9.
Here's a list of the PvE Encounters that can drop a Temple Expedition Ticket:
Boarrior
Dabbling Apprentice
Eccentric Etherwright
Foundation Weeper
Gorgon Noble
Hellbilly
Kyver Commander
Prince Marianas
Trashtown Mayor
Treasure Turtle
How Do Greenheart Expeditions Work?
Once you've obtained a Temple Expedition Ticket, you will need to keep it in your Stash until Day 9. Doing so will allow you to embark on the Greenheart Expedition on Day 9, Hour 1.
Note that there is no use to keeping any additional found Tickets, as this is the only window in which the event can trigger.
Once you enter the Temple Expedition, you will proceed through the entirety of Day 9 within its separate adventure world, taking on various challenges until you reach the final reward.
This means you will not be offered the usual vendors, events, and PvE Encounters for the Day, so keep that in mind before deciding whether or not to enter.
However, if you fail one of the challenges within, you'll be kicked out of the Temple but can still proceed with the remainder of the Day.
You will continue from the same hour, meaning if you lose the initial Temple Encounter, you'll thankfully still make it back in time for the regular PvE Encounter.
The Ticket will not disappear upon entering, so feel free to sell it afterwards for the 10 gold.
Challenges and Rewards
The Greenheart Expedition offers a variety of unique rewards to those who complete its final challenge. However, while its rewards are random, the events that proceed will always remain the same.
Hour 1
Upon entering the Greenheart Expedition you'll be faced with a choice between three doors; Fiery, Toxic, and Obsidian. The door you choose will modify the upcoming Trap Encounter, along with its rewards.
Hour 2
There are three Trap Encounters to choose from, each based on the items they are named after; Blowgun Trap, Caltrops Trap, and Boulder Trap.
Players will need to carefully choose the Encounter according to their build, along with the enchantment that applies to it (determined by the door).
While each Trap Encounter has its own rarity tier (Bronze, Silver, Gold) as usual, their items are definitely very matchup dependent, so choose wisely!
Unlike regular PvE Encounters, the Trap Encounter will NOT drop any of its items after defeat. This is a good thing, as I don't think players would enjoy the frequent presence of flaming Boulders!
Hour 3
Defeating the Trap Encounter will unlock a vault filled with Loot that somewhat corresponds to the chosen door/enchantment. Assuming you can beat the chosen Trap + Enchantment combo, it's a good way to ensure the rewards are fitting for your build.
We don't know all the rewards, but we have seen additional items appear that are not "Loot" items.
Hour 4
After looting the vault you'll be confronted with the Temple's final challenge. These fights come at varying difficulties, and defeating them will unlock the Legendary Relics.
You can always opt for the leftmost encounter if you want better odds of success. However, the pool of Legendary Relics improves based on the difficulty of the encounter.
Hour 5
If you successfully defeat the final Encounter, you'll be presented with three random Legendary Relics.
Some of these items offer very unique abilities, potentially opening a new build path for players to pivot to during the late game. After all, these Legendary Relics are only obtained at the end of Day 9.
At this point the Greenheart Expedition is complete and you'll continue throughout The Bazaar as usual, except hopefully with help from your newfound Legendary Relic!
Legendary Relics
Note: These are just a handful of Legendary Relics from the reveal season. Be sure to check out our items page to view them all.
Flamecoil Gem
Flamecoil Gem is a pretty mediocre item itself. While its Burn can scale and Cooldown can be reduced, it's pretty unlikely you'll have that many Relics AND Burn items to justify its inclusion.
That said, it's pretty clear that its prime purpose is to enchant another item. Getting a free Fiery enchant PLUS 50 gold is fantastic, so it's definitely worth considering among Relics.
Icewatch Warden
Icewatch Warden has crazy powerful Freeze potential. Not only does it Charge itself, but every other Freeze, Poison, and Burn trigger will also Charge it.
This makes it potentially viable even without a dedicated Freeze build. As long as your board can reliably Charge it while sparing two board slots, Icewatch Warden is insane value.
Keep an eye on this one, because there's a good chance it could become the spammiest Freeze item in the entire game. Not to mention Sapphire would make it all the deadlier.
Nullfrost Altar
Nullfrost Altar is a really unusual item that's essentially an Iceberg combined with Icebreaker, except it affects both players.
It also has built-in scaling similar to Shatter and Aurora Dome, which could prove very useful depending on your build.
This is effectively a Freeze counter that supports and enables certain Freeze items. Giant Ice Club and Nitrogen Hammer would absolutely love the amount of triggers this thing provides.
Overall I think it's a bit more of a niche choice among Legendary Relics, but there's no doubting it has the potential to do some crazy things.
Spirit Diffuser
Spirit Diffuser is a wild item, creating a whole new layer of RNG during each fight. While this can benefit your opponent (potentially a lot), depending on the matchup you may gain a huge edge.
Any opponent with multiple and/or spammy enchanted items will be punished, turning each use into a two second Charge in your favor. It's essentially like a pre-nerf Shield Bash.
There's a lot of luck at play here, but surely you can modify your board to improve your odds of benefiting more than your opponent. Just hope you don't queue into a slow one-shot build.
