Overview

Start-Stop Flying builds are a core part of Stelle's identity. It's all about maximizing triggers as efficiently as possible to create near-unstoppable engines, and there's plenty of ways to put it together!

This is one of the more flexible builds to assemble, with varying tools from beginning to end. The right setup is definitely late game viable, but ultimately comes down to the nuances of your run.

Example Early Game Path

Start-Stop Flying builds utilize many of the same components as the Balloon Engine Build, so feel free to check it out if you want an alternative build path.

Core Synergies

  • Freefall Simulator is the earliest access to reliable start/stop combos, make upgrading it a priority.
  • Clockwork Disc is a single slot start/stop enabler and combos well with Gyro Gunsight + Headset, helping carry early game fights.
  • Tethers provides a very reliable source of Shield early on, but will eventually be dropped during the mid to late game.

Tips & Tricks

  • Orbital Polisher should always be picked up early when it's available.
  • Consider not upgrading your Clockwork Disc so that you can utilize a Bronze-tier Orbital Polisher (and prioritize upgrades elswhere).
  • Toolbox is a great Economy item if you spare the funds, but works best when you can upgrade it to Silver.

Common Filler Items

  • Angle Grinder Drone
  • Flycycle
  • Kite
  • Pinwheel

Example Mid Game Additions

Core Synergies

  • Airplane Glue is the bread and butter scaling during the mid game, and also provides reliable stop triggers.
  • Paper Airplane adds more start/stop triggers, but becomes much more relevant during the late game.
  • Ornithopter can improve your build's startup time, and also provides targeted Flying support.
  • Lightning Butterfly adds additional scaling, but is a lesser priority among start/stop setups.
  • Pillbuggy + Anemometer can build into a powerful one-shot combo while still working well in the mid game. Having decent Crit Chance is recommended.

Tips & Tricks

  • Most start/stop setups are less defined during the mid game compared to Stelle's other builds. Look for a Large item as soon as you can.
  • Parachute or Windbreaker can replace Tethers as your mid game defensive option.
  • In-Flight Meal offers a great Max Health boost if you can afford it. Hold it as long as you can, but don't be afraid to cash it in.

Mid Game Filler Items

  • Air-Pressure Rifle
  • Bird Cage
  • Eject Button
  • Marshalling Lights
  • Pogo Stick

End Game Build Breakdown

Core Synergies

  • Hang Glider is really flexible and fits into most Flying builds. If you have a Shiny Clockwork Disc or Paper Airplane you don't even need other support.
  • Daggerwing boasts incredible build-in scaling, but is rather slow. Ni-Kola is a reliable way to give it a boost.
  • Radar Dome is a powerful Multicast enabler. Take advantage of Obsidian/Shielded/Fiery enchants to get even more casts than normal.

Tips & Tricks

  • The Pillbuggy + Anemometer combo works best with Radar Dome. Pillbuggy's Shield gets completely out of hand with Multicast 3.
  • Stelle skills are always a safe bet upon level-up, as the Flying skills are pretty universal across a variety of setups.
