Kripp's Balloon Engine Stelle Build

Core Synergies

• Balloon Engine + Freefall Simulator is the build's two-item core for maximizing Flying/Burn triggers.
• Clockwork Disc adds more standalone triggers, while Fire Bomb adds extra Burn and Reloads easily with Freefall Simulator.
• Headset ensures the build runs as fast as possible, but there's another alternative that can be picked up later (see Example Mid Game Additions).
• Tethers helps provide strong Shielding during the early game, and benefits well from Shield skills.

Tips & Tricks

• Make it a high priority to scale Balloon Engine's Burn. Reroll at level 2 to try and get a positional Burn skill like Final Flame.
• Curio is well worth visiting for the chance of acquiring Salamander Pup. Rocket Boots is another great pickup.
• Prioritize upgrading Balloon Engine first, then Freefall Simulator second.
• Grab an Orbital Polisher if you can. It'll help add even more spammy triggers during the late game.

Core Synergies

• Paper Airplane fulfills the same role as Clockwork Disc, but upgrades reduce its Cooldown to make it far more efficient.
• Smoke Detector is a higher ceiling, lower floor alternative to Headset. It's not as easy to enable, but will allow you to accelerate Freefall Simulator.
• Flare Gun makes Paper Airplane and Balloon Engine faster, but won't be necessary once Paper Airplane hits Diamond (Haste will cap its speed).
• Flashbang provides excellent speed control and will continuously Reload thanks to Freefall Simulator.
• Bird Cage is an alternative to Tethers, ultimately functioning the same, but slightly better alongside Small items.

Tips & Tricks

• Save Rocket Boots for Smoke Detector since Headset is pretty easy to upgrade. You want at least a two-second Haste before swapping items.
• You can add either Battle Balloon, Parachute, or Windbreaker to give the build additional mid game sustain.
• In-Flight Meal is definitely worth grabbing if you can afford it. Try saving it until you level up further, but don't be afraid to sell if you're falling behind.

Tips & Tricks

• This build generally remains the same from beginning to end, but does have an expiration date compared to builds that utilize Large items.
• Beyond Day 12 you'll want to consider pivoting to a stronger late game setup, likely one that can utilize your Freefall Simulator start/stop support.
• Having above average enchantments and/or skills may incentivize you to stick with it, so take that into consideration before completely pivoting.
• Landing an Obsidian enchant on the Balloon Engine unlocks an alternative path, letting you lean into scaling from Airplane Glue.
• Utilize a targeted Flying item like Anemometer or Ornithopter if you want Balloon Engine to consistently scale with Airplane Glue.
