Overview

The Bazaar's random nature can make for some very interesting runs, especially when the path to victory consists of a winding path with many twists and turns.

While you can certainly have an intention going into a run, being able to follow through with our build of choice isn't always up to us.

Sometimes no matter what we do, we find ourselves getting beat up again and again. In times like this, often the best course of action is to start over... but that doesn't mean conceding!

This build showcases yet another crazy run. Kripp goes from an unfortunate beginning into a fantastic finish, proving that it's definitely possible to salvage a run from its terrible start.

Be sure to check out Kripp's video for a complete look. His run consisted of many different items throughout pivoting to the final build.

Core Combos and Synergies

How to Start Over

Pivoting is a pretty well known concept in The Bazaar, but in some cases, pivoting is more like a full restart. Under more ideal circumstances you're able to take a current build, add a new important piece, and slowly shift closer towards the newer more powerful strategy. This way you have a solid baseline to work with while making the shift.

Unfortunately, there are many times where you aren't given this luxury. Sometimes your build just sucks. When this is the case, your best bet is to search for the strongest item you can find, regardless of whether it fits your active build.

Unless you have a surprisingly good amount of gold and/or a strong Economy (which is unlikely in this scenario), don't settle for something mediocre. You want the most premium item(s) you can find. Ideally you're looking for something Gold/Diamond tier, and you want it to be a pillar of its archetype.

Finding powerful and unique enchanted items is another alternative, though much less defined and far rarer to pull off. A big part of pivoting is having an idea of the items you could be looking to pick up. Random enchanted items from a vendor aren't exactly something you can plan for in most cases, especially not when desperately behind.

At the end of the day, unless your current build is 1-2 items short of becoming really powerful, you're better off looking for something else. Play knowing that you'll be scrapping it as soon as you can, and take as many opportunities as you can to shop for items. Unfortunately this means occasionally skipping some good events, but it's necessary if you want the run to continue.

Atlatl

Atlatl is a powerhouse of a Weapon. While its numbers obviously don't reach as high as some others, its actual DPS often goes unmatched. Very few items can reach a one second Cooldown, meaning almost nothing can rival its speed. This makes it a phenomenal target for enchants as it will get multiple uses before the opponent's items even get their first cast.

Having only one win within the first five days of his run, Kripp eventually found a Crook and Atlatl from the same Weapon vendor. While there was almost no synergy with his current build, it allowed for the opportunity to shift into something better.

Now at this point of the game, Crook has an expiry date. Post-nerfs it's far weaker at Diamond, meaning it won't scale up to the same crazy heights it would before. For the time being it's definitely a huge improvement, but Kripp knows he'll need to shift gears in order to survive the dangers that live beyond Day 10.

Weapon skills became his focus, allowing him to acquire Right-Handed for a solid flat Damage boost. While this may not look super impactful at this stage of the game, keep in mind that it helps bring Atlatl closer to its one second Cooldown. That can be a huge difference down the road.

Kripp applied a Heavy enchant to his Atlatl. This is an excellent way to disrupt the enemy since the Slow will almost certainly be applied before any item can react. While not mandatory for the build, this is definitely a priority choice between enchants, with only Icy and Turbo rivalling it. Alternatively, Restorative/Shielded/Obsidian could be chosen if you're lacking in defenses or sustain.

Crow's Nest

Crow's Nest is a Vanessa staple, and a very uncommon find for Pyg. Generally the one-Weapon builds that Pyg plays are the slower HP stacking type like Double Whammy or the long haul Economy Beast of Burden. However, this rare find from Pearl's Dig Site is a spicy pickup alongside Atlatl.

Kripp enchanted the Crow's Nest with Turbo, pairing perfectly with the Heavy Atlatl. While he wasn't at the guaranteed 100% Crit threshold, Crow's Nest made it pretty darn close.

Spices

Spices is a unique but powerful single-Ammo item. It can add a huge amount of Damage alongside a wide Weapon board, though when paired with a single Weapon, it's often even crazier. Since the Damage scaled is based on your weakest's Weapon, depending on the setup this isn't always favorable when playing multiple Weapons. But when you have a single threat, Spices will double it.

While somewhat of a rare find in its own, Kripp found his from the Thug PvE Encounter. Though to be fair, among the rest of the build, Spices is actually a more realistic pickup. After all, it's still a Pyg item.

If you want to take it a step further, adding Gunpowder gives a second chance to double up the Damage. Given how fast the build is, this probably isn't needed, but could help in longer fights.

Dooley's Scarf

Dooley's Scarf is a rather interesting utility item. There are very few ways to reliably counter Freeze, but Dooley's Scarf does it incredibly well. While it's certainly not an item you'll typically build around, it fits really well into this setup.

Positioned between the Spices and Atlatl creates an excellent insurance plan, and helps ensure Spices can actually make it through its relatively long eight second Cooldown.

Another rare find from Street Festival event. Kripp's item also had the Shielded enchant on it, but this really didn't matter considering its main purpose was to protect his other items.

Supportive Items and Skills

Battery

Battery was a late pickup from the Lord Arken PvE Encounter, adding yet another Dooley item to the build. Its purpose is to quickly accelerate Spices so that it can be used in a much more timely matter.

As mentioned before, eight seconds can be a long time to wait. While the build probably has the sustain thanks to the Lifesteal from Crow's Nest, it also runs the risk of the opponent scaling out of reach.

Blue Piggles A

Blue Piggles A is probably the least necessary item of the build. The fact that it applies to adjacent items, as opposed to another Piggle providing more scaling to the right, goes to show that it was more useful throughout the pivoting process.

However, it does help eventually top off Atlatl's Crit Chance to 100%, allowing it still serve some use even at the end. While 80%+ is already good odds, a couple unfortunate whiffs could make all the difference in a fight, so don't underestimate its worth!

Cash Deposits

Cash Deposits added a ton of Damage scaling by the end of the game. Kripp went into the final fight with 197 gold, so that's an additional 197 Damage on the Atlatl, and even more when you factor in double damage from Crits, plus further scaling from Spices. As you can imagine, it's way more.

Other Weapon skills definitely played a big role, like the aforementioned Right-Handed pickup. Augmented Weaponry also contributed a lot and was a fortunate drop from Trashtown Mayor.

Shield Bash

Shield Bash is still super strong despite its nerfs. Alongside Atlatl it actually translates to "When your enemy uses a non-Weapon item each fight, use the Atlatl". This front-loads a ton of extra Damage, punishing slower builds that need time to scale.

Even just four uses at Gold is still a worthy inclusion, though if you can upgrade it to Diamond it'll bring it up to eight. As if Atlatl wasn't fast enough already!

Hypnotic Drain

Hypnotic Drain is extremely powerful as unlike Frozen Shot it works with any Weapon, and more importantly, didn't receive any nerfs to cap the amount of uses. That said, the fact that it only works with Lifesteal Weapons and is a rare Monster Skill makes it pretty fair. After all, you have to both find it and have ways to utilize it.

Alongside Crow's Nest this is a slam dunk. Atlatl was able to proc the Freeze multiple times before the Small items could even get a chance to act. Atlatl can strike twice before a single two second Freeze wears off, meaning it doesn't take long to lockdown the board. What a crazy combo.
