A Flexible Foundation
While
Bunker and
Robotic Factory are clearly different, they can actually fulfill the same role when playing a Friend-based build. Dooley has many Shield Friends that are worth using, giving you the option to make do with whichever one you find.
This is a big advantage since it increases the consistency of the archetype. The Large item pool is generally quite Small, so having two times the odds makes it fairly reliable if you look hard enough.
For this particular build, we'll be looking at Kripp's
Bunker setup that capitalizes on two Shielded enchantments. Understand that the base items without enchants will not work in this case, so if you're looking to assemble something similar, you may need to modify depending on whether you're using
Bunker or
Robotic Factory.
Companion Core
Companion Core is the ideal Core if you're looking to flex between builds. Haste is always valuable, and you won't have to go out of your way to find additional sources.
Armored Core is a solid alternative if you're leaning towards a
Bunker board.
Most of the time you'll probably want more Small items instead of the two Medium-sized Friends shown here. However, since both of the items are Chargeable they move quick enough to support the
Companion Core on their own.
Kripp had a Restorative enchant on the
Companion Core, but among all enchants of the build it's the least relevant.
Shielded Harmadillo
Harmadillo relies on having a way to quickly spam Shield triggers so it can rapid fire for a ton of Damage. With
Duct Tape no longer in Dooley's item pool it's a lot harder, but with Shielded enchants it's extremely doable.
While enchanted items aren't exactly something you can rely on, it's worth mentioning that Shielded enchants are a bit more common thanks to Kev's Armory. An early (and lucky) visit can give you an easy build path to follow.
Shielded Race Carl
Race Carl can be an incredibly efficient Damage-dealing with the right support, and with a Shielded enchant it'll be equally as protective. Combined with
Bunker and
Harmadillo creates a ridiculous combo, looping the items like crazy.
Normally more Haste support is necessary, but thanks to another supporting item (see below) this build can get around it.
