Pufferfish now Poisons [3/6/9/12] on a 6-second cooldown and passive is changed to "When you Haste, charge this 3 seconds."
Since it now has a use activation and can be affected by Haste, you'll have to adjust how it's built, but it's even more powerful now.
In this guide, we'll cover Kripp's updated version to help you adapt to the new meta.

The New Pufferfish
As we mentioned in the intro, the new Pufferfish has a cooldown which gives it its own set of pros and cons. A key difference is that it can now crit!
And although you can't loop it with Trebuchet anymore, there are new possibilities if you are able to lower its CD.
Note that Kripp was able to give it a Radiant enchantment which is obviously powerful to find but not crucial to using this build.
When the December 3rd patch first launched, you were able to get a ridiculous amount of Feathers from events (it has since been hotfixed).
Although it's not as consistent, you can still use this strategy if you're finding Loot and other sources of cooldown reduction, such as the Figurehead.

Deadly Figurehead
Alongside the Pufferfish, Kripp was able to make a powerful two item infinite loop with Jellyfish. Since the Pufferfish was at 2.5 seconds and Hasted the adjacent Jellyfish, the Pufferfish in turn, was Charged.
Jellyfish
To the right of the Jellyfish was the Captain's Wheel, which was getting juiced by the Large Fiery Cove every time it was used (another infinite).
The Fiery Cove itself had a very fast 1.5 second cooldown which was getting Charged by the Sick Burn skill (another infinite).
To put it simply, if Kripp was able to lower the Captain's Wheel to 2.0 seconds, he would have basically had four infinites going.
Captain's Wheel
Note that getting the Fiery enchantment is hard to plan around consistently, Kripp was able to get it from the Burning Caldera when he resurrected.

Better Replacements
Despite the insane setup, Kripp ended up losing to another Pufferfish comp.
According to him, the new standard Pufferfish setup would be along the lines of:
Pearl
Waterwheel
Pufferfish
Jellyfish
Clamera
Holster
This setup takes advantage of the Aquatic small item package with Holsters to grant more instant Haste while also giving your comp more survivability with Shielding (Pearl) and Slowing (Clamera).

Lastly, you have the Waterwheel which Hastes your entire board, when flanked by the Charged Pufferfish and Pearl it has insane uptime to ramp your engine.
