Doubling Down
Pygmalien has a lot of Small items that are insanely powerful with the right enchantment. Of the options that exist at Bronze, many of them are spammy, have great scaling potential, or are great Economy items.
Finding an enchanted
Matchbox from the start is a pretty good reason to double down on the strategy. The best way to do this is to use the
Upgrade Hammer trick to get yourself a second
Matchbox.
If you're unfamiliar with how this works, here's a quick breakdown.
- Choose the Bronze item you would like to "duplicate".
- Select the Lost Crate event and take the
Upgrade Hammer. - Search every appropriate vendor that could potentially sell your desired item.
- Once found, before purchasing the item, sell your
Upgrade Hammer to make your desired item Silver. Then purchase the Bronze one from the shop.
This trick allows you to acquire a second copy of an item, whereas the vendors will normally only allow you to purchase and upgrade your existing one.
Please note that while this can technically be done later in the game with higher tier items, it's much more reliable at Bronze thanks to the Lost Crate event providing reliable access to a Silver
Upgrade Hammer.
Be careful not to skip opportunities to find your second item. The later the day, the harder it is to find Bronze tier items, and eventually they will become inaccessible.
Matchbox
Matchbox works well alongside items with low Cooldowns, and even better when those items can also be Charged by other items. This is a big reason why getting a second
Matchbox makes such a difference, as well as having twice the Burn stacking.
Kripp started with the Shielded
Matchbox, while the second one eventually was enchanted by the Turbo
Bootstraps.
Marbles
Marbles is a common component of
Matchbox builds thanks to it being a non-Weapon item with a self-Charging capability. Plus having the ability to Slow enemy items works as a great deterrent while the Burn stacks up and ticks down.
It was also enchanted by the Turbo
Bootstraps, allowing it to aid in accelerating the build's rate of fire.
Ice Luge
Ice Luge is a ridiculous item that makes your items reach unthinkable speeds. Placed between the
Matchboxes sets them up to eventually hit one second Cooldowns, allowing them to continuously chain each other on internal Cooldown.
Getting this to Diamond makes a big difference as the Cooldown reduction goes from one second to two. Additionally, you'll really want to find additional Ammo so that it can go off more than once.
Searching Loot items for
Gunpowder is generally the best bet, but it's worth noting that you really only want one additional Ammo. Adding extra is actually a downside as it will continue to Freeze your own items, and after two uses the Cooldowns are low enough.
