TFT Set 18: Enchanted Wilds reintroduces a familiar mechanic from the past, bringing us a new iteration on "Charms" from Set 12.
In Enchanted Wilds they are known as "Wisps", and they come in all sorts of fun and friendly appearances!
How Wisps Work
Wisps are magical forest denizens that offer one-time benefits to players who decide to purchase them.
These single-use powers include temporary combat buffs, resources such as Gold and XP, along with "risky deals" which could lead to even greater rewards, if you're willing to pay the price.
You'll see them occupying the rightmost shop slot during the planning phase, but they will disappear afterwards, revealing the fifth unit behind it. Every other shop will contain a Wisp.
The types of effects you'll encounter become increasingly more powerful throughout the course of the game. However, they also get more expensive.
Wisps retain most aspects of Charms, but have received some quality of life improvements to better our experience.
And yes, that extends beyond their new adorable nature.
Wisps can only be purchased during the planning phase, allowing the fifth unit to be available if you wait. This ensures you aren't rolling down with one less slot, especially when you aren't interested in the Wisp.
Wisps appear in every other shop. The increased frequency provides more options without hindering regular purchases.
The guaranteed Combat Wisps at Stage 5 and beyond should help even the playing field, since everyone will have access to them.
