Welcome to our trait guide, where we'll be covering the Spellweaver trait in the new TFT Set 18: Enchanted Wilds. In this guide, we'll explain how Spellweaver works, cover its different champions, explore Spellweaver Meta Comps, and provide a quick summary of the other potential traits you could branch into.

This guide was written by Oli.

Spellweaver Meta Comps

Mana items and a strong frontline help Spellweavers build AP throughout combat. An early upgraded caster can become your main carry or hold items while you save towards a more expensive board.

Here are a few comps that play around the Spellweaver trait.

Kill, Stack, Repeat

Kill, Stack, Repeat builds around Veigar and LeBlanc, with Cassiopeia and Fiddlesticks bringing you to 4 Spellweaver. Ornn takes your tank items while working towards his Artifact.

Get Veigar onto the board early to start stacking, pairing him with LeBlanc, Ornn and Alistar. Slow roll at level 5 for Veigar and Ornn 3-star, then move to 6 for your 2-cost upgrades.

Several early copies and mana components are good indicators, while Portable Forge or Ornn's quest can offer Dawncore or Luden’s Tempest for Veigar. If your economy allows you to push levels later, Ahri and Alune open up 6 Spellweaver.

Carries: Veigar, LeBlanc and Ornn
Leveling: Level 5 Slow Roll

AP Exodia

AP Exodia keeps 2 Spellweaver through Alune and Fiddlesticks, leaving room for Lux and a 4 Vanguard frontline. Alune takes your main damage items, with Taric and Ancient Sentinel buying time for her casts.

LeBlanc and Fiddlesticks fit an Elderwood opener, while Karma offers a Blossom route. Keep upgrading your board as you level, stabilising at 8 before pushing to 9 for Alune and Taric.

A healthy win streak alongside Rods and Tears gives you a good starting point. Level Up! or Upward Mobility helps you reach the expensive final board, especially with extra gold or XP from your Encounter.

TFT Spellweaver Champions

Karma Blossom Spellweaver 1g

tft set 18 karma

Karma’s Karmic Bond ability Teathers the current target she’s attacking, dealing magic damage. It then releases a burst of power around them, dealing even more damage to all enemies in a Hex radius and also slowing them.

Veigar Blackthorn Sprykin Spellweaver 1g

tft set 18 veigar

We all love a scaling champion in TFT, and that's where Veigar comes into play. His Primordial Burst ability launches a giant blast at the target that will deal magic damage, which is increased if they’re below max health.

If the unit dies, Veigar will permanently gain Ability Power. You’re definitely going to want to reroll the little magician, so if you natural him early and have the right components, then play around his 3 traits and get stacking!

Leblanc Elderwood Spellweaver 2g

tft set 18 leblanc

[Link to Champion Page]

Leblanc’s Mirror Image ability has a passive and an active; the passive has a chance to create a copy of an ally on your board after every player combat, which is increased per takedown. The active ability launches a Mirror Image at the current target, dealing magic damage and hitting adjacent enemies.

Leblanc seems to be the perfect utility AP backliner as she can create more frontline or even damage with her passive while also being able to hit multiple enemies at once. So keep her in mind if you have a Voidstaff or a Morello.

Cassiopeia Covern Spellweaver 3g

tft set 18 cassiopeia

[Link to Champion Page]

Cassiopeia’s Noxious Blast poisons its target and the nearest non-poisoned enemy, dealing magic damage over time. The best part of this ability is that the poison stacks, and Cassiopeia has a low mana cost.

Fiddlesticks Flora Fatalis Defender Spellweaver 3g

tft set 18 fiddlesticks

[Link to Champion Page]

Fiddlesticks reduces the Magic Resist of his nearby enemies. He then drains life from them, giving him health while dealing magic damage. Fiddlesticks is an all-around great 3-cost unit, offering 3 traits while also being a damage dealer/frontline carry. He can also come in clutch if you haven’t got any shred.

Ahri Blossom Spellweaver 4g

tft set 18 ahri

[Link to Champion Page]

If you want to see damage, this is where Ahri comes in, as her Spirit Bomb ability launches a bomb that has the most surrounding enemies. It deals magic damage to enemies in a hex radius, reduced by per hex away from the epicentre.

If you have Ahri fully itemized with Blossom and Spellweaver activated, then expect some big damage.

Alune Attuned Lunar Spellweaver 5g

tft set 18 alune

[Link to Champion Page]

Alune's Moonfall ability is a bit crazy, she makes it rain moonshards that split among the 3 nearest enemies. After a few casts and when the moon is full, Allune will crash it onto the board dealing tons of damage.

Alune’s mana cost is low as well, so get 3 Items and a tanky frontline which will give you time for Alune to bring down the moon.
