Build Overview

This is IN DEPTH Guide for my Lacerate + Eviscerate / Retaliate Gladiator Build

The Guide will cover all progression from Lvl 1 to blowing up T17 and killing Ubers.

Endgame Gameplay / Ubers you can see in that video - https://youtu.be/X4G84QDq5cE

About the Build:

The Build is Tanky and reaches high block chance early on low investment with Determined Survivor reaching 88% Block Chance in the Endgame with More Than Skill.

With such high block we use Eviscerate clear screens and Lacerate against stronger foes like Bosses or tougher rares.

It’s a newbie-friendly build that’s easy to play and not very expensive to setup.

You can play it on SSF and even on Hardcore just fine too, just stop at Lvl 96 version with rares in that situation.

============================================

▸ Weapon

  • At this point you MIGHT come across an Axe that will be better than Jack, the Axe.
  • Look out for flat Phys Dmg + % Increased Phys Damage + Damage over Time Multiplier.
  • You can craft % Physical Damage Over Time Multiplier with the Bench.
  • Follow This video to craft a great Axe - https://youtu.be/M2KzNp07kHE

▸ Shield

  • Search for shields with % Phys damage reduction stat + recovering Life on Block. Add Aspect of the Cat to it if you can.

▸ Armour

  • Replica Farrul's Fur + Aspect of the Cat is the main choice here for easy charge generation combo with Olesya's Delight.
  • Use Ralakesh's Impatience (Frenzy) to get more Attack Speed since you generated Frenzy Charges will be transformed to Affliction ones from Olesya's Delight.

▸ Jewellery

  • Stranglegasp is the best choice here since it can help with mana / add one more curse + get more charges to improve damage.
  • Rings should be rare with + resistance and - Mana cost

▸ Jewels

  • Look for jewels with Life + Damage over Time multiplier.
  • The Light of Meaning (Chaos Resistance) can help with chaos res A LOT.

▸Bandits

  • Help Alira, kill the rest
  • Can swap to kill all later if you need it

❗ The Blood Sap Tincture provides a LOT of burst DPS that you'll need in hard encounters. If you don't know what to easily improve, the easiest thing is to get a strong Tincture.

▸ Where Leech coming from?

To get the Leech in the endgame versions you will need to use cluster Jewel with Fuel the Fight, Martial Prowess, Feed the Fury.

▸ How to Cap Block?

To cap block - make sure that you have Versatile Combatant allocated and it shows 65% for both types of Block in your ingame tooltip.

if you are not capped, you can always invest more into Block and go for Testudo or Deflection

▸ Do we need Suppress?

At the moment you can use Suppress in the early stages of mapping, but later on it is not really necessary if you are not playing on hardcore.

▸ How to deal with Mana?

To make the mana situation easier while leveling - you can allocate Cannibalistic Rite ASAP + use low level Clarity.

If it is still not enough - Spirit of War is also an option.

In the endgame having -7 or -8mana on rings is mandatory as well.

Use Summon Skitterbots if you still have mana.

How to Automate Curse?

To Automate curses you will need Battlemage's Cry + Autoexertion activated in the one socket chain with curse you want. Tech is explained there - https://youtu.be/t3i_0PrZy60

What skill to use for Clear / Bossing?

Most of the time you should use Lacerate non stop and add Eviscerate on top when you need it.

Why in some cases there are MORE Gems in an item than item can fit?

If it is a support skills, you just need to choose one out of the last few to fit your amount of sockets, drop the last one in the line if you are in doubt.

If it is an active skill, you can move the last one in the line to the other item or drop it completely again.

How it Plays

Run around using Shield Charge + Frostblink for instant movement.

Attack with Lacerate and use Eviscerate when you have it up to Clear Better.

For Bossing - try to make sure you are hitting them with both Lacerate slashes.
