Every league if possible I like to make a tanky wand character that doesn't fall over at a stiff breeze and can farm most content in the game.
NOTE: There will be a
Svalinn version that I am working on and will update when it is ready in a few days. This will be SIGNIFICANTLY tankier as long as everything works out. Expect higher budgets for that version, I have tried to keep the base version as obtainable as possible for a middle level budget.
Why Champion?
Champion fixes a few major pain points for the build:
- No need for Accuracy thanks to
Worthy Foe - Keeps our
Animate Guardian alive through
Fortitude and
Corrupting Fever
Transfusion Support use. - Tankier than other available ascendancies at lower gear levels due to easy access to Adrenaline and Fortify.
Our Main Skill
This build centers around the
Kinetic Fusillade skill which has 2 important notes:
- It requires extensive investment into Reduced Duration to function properly which makes other skills like
Sigil of Power and
Immortal Call not function for this build. A quick rule is that the duration of the attack should be much lower than your base attack time to make this skill "machine-gun" fire. Notably Acceleration Shrine, Echoing Shrine, and similar effects will completely disable your damage. You can right click these off if you get them. - It uniquely has a ton of Chains built in which means we do not need to invest into other projectile type mechanics such as
Fork Support or
Pierce Support. Notably I have tried
Greater Chain Support and it did not feel worthwhile despite providing +3 chains.
Speed Leveling

Took me roughly 8 hours to go from Beach -> Lvl 95, it may take you longer obviously if you are not as efficient as I am, but it is VERY fast.
When you begin maps I ran as high of a level of no mod maps with very open or straight layouts as I could with a Shrine/Breach Tree, just take all of the Shrine nodes besides the Covetous Shrine, and all of the Unstable Breach nodes. I used 3x Domination Scarabs and 2x Unstable Breach Scarabs.
Animate Guardian Tech
We are also utilizing an
Animate Guardian in this setup using some relatively novel tech:
- We use
Corrupting Fever to proc
Adrenaline from our
First to Strike, Last to Fall ascendancy, when this is linked to
Transfusion Support however it causes our
Animate Guardian to gain a TON of souls every time we click it. This alongside
Soul Ascension on our AG is how we keep him alive despite using
Companionship Support. - Notable with
Transfusion Support that levels of this gem ONLY affect the multiplier of life cost, same with quality. You want to use the lowest level and quality you can to just barely sacrifice 51% of your total life each time you press it.
Our
Animate Guardian has some very specific gear for this setup:
Ralakesh's Impatience (Endurance) to give them immunity to Corrupting Blood which can easily kill minions.
Soul Ascension gloves to help maintain Soul Eater stacks in-between our uses of
Corrupting Fever.
Advancing Fortress to give him both fast attack speed as well as some chance to block.- Any helmet with the Malediction modifier, this comes from the
Glimpse of Chaos (Malediction) unique that can be corrupted into a different Rare/Unique helmet. Ideally you want any random Rare that has decent stats but this will be VERY expensive, I went with the best Unique helmet I could find for a reasonable price. - Either
Garb of the Ephemeral for Crit Immunity and Action Speed Slow Immunity (What I use) or
Doppelgänger Guise for less worry about keeping the AG alive. - If you use
Garb of the Ephemeral you will need to maintain his Soul Eater stacks through
Corrupting Fever use occasionally in very difficult content. We do have
Transfusion Support also linked to our
Sniper's Mark
Mark On Hit Support which helps maintain it as well. You will also need to change your major god to Solaris to become crit immune again.
- If you use
- a Rare Shaper
Transfer-attuned Spirit Shield with the modifiers %Increase chance to Block and Recover 5% of Life When You Block - Crafting Notes:
- Obtain ilvl 83+
Transfer-attuned Spirit Shield, make it rare, use a Shaper's Exalted Orb on it. - Method 1:
- Use Deafening Essence of Loathing until you hit the Recover on Block Mod
- Use Exalted Orbs to fill out mods looking for resists, life, spell block.
- If the Exalts don't hit the mods you want start again from essence step.
- Method 2:
- Alteration Roll for either %Chance to Block T2+ or Recover % Life on Block and use Augment/Regals/Exalts to find the other mods, this method is quite cheap in general and will not incur essence costs.
Diamond Shrine Belt
This build utilizes
Screams of the Desiccated Diamond Shrine edition. This is one of the slightly rarer ones but not absurdly rare so the price should not skyrocket. It is already somewhat factored in as a few popular builds are using this archetype.
The main way this belt is utilized is through the use of
Marylene's Fallacy which provides a crazy amount of Crit Multi with the downside of Less Crit Chance. The Diamond Shrine completely negates that letting us scale as much crit quality on this as we can. There isn't much use in
The Gull for this belt as it is simply a "You Crit" modifier and cannot really be scaled.
This also does mean we cannot use anything but instant flasks,
The Writhing Jar is a solid choice as it will give you small bursts of higher dps through chain and aoe when you spam them near a big target, it also will provide some instant life/mana. You can use one
Divine Life Flask with Instant and Corrupting Blood/Bleed Immunity to manage bleeds.
Other Uniques
Replica Hyrri's Ire - Provides all the stats we are looking for, Suppress, Int, Evasion, Added Lightning Damage and has no life modifiers so we can use the mastery.
Saffell's Frame - a VERY strong budget option for this build as we already have Evasion. Gives us a ton of Spell Block, go for spell block corrupt as well if you can afford it. Spell Damage, Max Ele Res, Ele Res, all kinds of good stuff.
The Light of Meaning (Lightning Damage) +
Unnatural Instinct - Combo provides a TON of %Inc Lightning Damage
Watcher's Eye - Mainly looking for %Pen with
Wrath but you can also go for %Lightning Damage as well
Lethal Pride (Kaom Strength of Blood) - Doesn't matter the keystone, just use the Timeless jewel finder to get at least 1 Endurance Charge on Kill node, and then as many Fortify Max, Strength%, Double Damage as you can afford.
Stormshroud - This + our boots provides complete elemental ailment immunity.
The Blue Nightmare - Foulborn version with "Lightning Damage with Hits is Lucky if you've Blocked Spell Damage Recently" we are basically always getting hit by spells and blocking them so this is very high uptime, we stack lightning damage so this is a huge source of damage. Also helps us with Spell Block through the use of tattoos.

Currency Strategies
Boss Rush
- Tree doesn't matter a ton, I suggest just using any tree you have that has max map mod effect and quant/rarity
- Run Abomination Nightmare maps with the regex provided above that you should edit to your own specifications.
- Skip absolutely everything and run straight for the boss, if the mirage overlaps then run the boss in the mirage as well.
- If your setup is weaker or you are struggling to kill bosses use Scarab of the Sinistral + Scarab of the Dextral to disable all mods, but this will give you less fragments.
Essences

- Scarabs -> 1x Calcification, 1x Stability, 1x Ascent, 1x Adversaries, 1x Sinistral
- No Astrolabe or Templar if you want to, doesn't matter
- Maps -> Underground Sea, roll them blue with the modifier % increased number of Rare Monsters, suffix doesnt matter because the Sinistral will disable it
- Corrupt any essence mob that has either 5x Essences or more, or if it has any of the Purple Essences (Misery, Envy, Dread, Scorn)
- Mirage Mods are mostly useless, always take free barya/coins and thats about all that matters.
Harvest

- Maps -> Jungle Valley 8 Mod with 40+ Pack size 100+ Quant, use the regex above and modify it to your own specifications.
- 1x Harvest Astrolabe
- Clear the entire map but ignore the boss, taking every Quant modifier on Blue Altars that you can find, be careful about -res and -defenses though as these can make you VERY weak if you take too many.
- Depending on Juice Prices you can adjust your tree and the color of juice you go for but as of this video Yellow is King, followed by Blue, with Red as the worst by far.
- If the Harvest bosses are not phasing, move them away from the walls.
- Sometimes Harvest mobs can get VERY dangerous, make sure you are moving around as you clear them to dodge projectiles.
Uber Bossing
Build is perfectly capable of farming ubers but they are not exactly worth a ton of money and it does take some piloting skill. Would suggest other content instead. They are possible though.
