This is my Guide for Ignite Ethereal Knives Elementalist League Starter Build for Path of Exile 3.29

In this Guide I'm going to cover all the info you need to League start Ignite EK Elementalist build and push it up to the DoT cap at Ubers.

In 3.29 GGG Buffed Ethereal Knives making early progression easier with it too.

EK itself is feels absolutely great in map and can hit half of the screen at the same time, making that Elementalist build VERY comfortable to play.

About the Build

EK Elementalist is fast, smooth, and very fun to clear maps with build that has GREAT scaling potential both at the league start and in the endgame as well.

Ethereal Knives (or simply EK) and especially Ethereal Knives of the Massacre version is an amazing spell to clear and proc ignite with, it is fast, can be used on the run and has a very good coverage due to projectiles shot in a circle.

Since it’s a phys spell, it can also benefit from various “Gain Physical damage as extra X” mods.

This will in turn improve ignite DoT as well - since it’s an Elementalist build, hit damage of any kind scales ignite values thanks to Shaper of Flames

And finally, Elementalist itself is one of the best league starter classes too due to the strong Golem synergy, that can easily carry early campaign.

In the endgame the Build can stack damage through Heralds blasting screens with not only ignite proliferation but also Herald hits as well while staying decently tanky with a lot of items flexibility!

❗Prolifiration is VERY Important:

If you are playing Elementalist Ignite build - having Ignite proliferation is an absolute MUST, otherwise your clear might be much slower. 1 source of prolifiration should ALWYS be in the buidl.

Possible places to get it:

1. Elemental Proliferation Support and Ignite Proliferation Support is great sources for early game.

2. You can roll Ignites you inflict spread to other Enemies within 1.2 metres as Exarch Implicit on your gloves.

3. Medium Fire Damage over Time Cluster Jewel with Fan the Flames can be a source too.

▸What is Priority for Uniques?

1. Obliteration early on

2. Polaric Devastation

3. Gloomfang early on

4. Servant of Decay

5. Grace of the Goddess

6. The Red Nightmare

7. Lost Unity

Other great Uniques for early levels 70-95: Replica Prismweave, Nycta's Lantern, Bated Breath

▸Can we use Headhunter?

Yes, both Headhunter and Mageblood are fine if you have the budget. Stygian Vise is default option but you can use any other belt that you have available for the build.

▸What to Roll on the rare Items?

Helmet:

Getting Ignites you inflict deal damage faster is a priority there, otherwise - just use normal helmet with life and es / resistances.

Gloves:

Gloves can be a source of conversion for your phys dmg, either to cold or to fire directly.

Except from it, just roll Ignites you inflict deal damage faster + some resistances too.

Boots:

For the boots, roll chance to avoid being shocked +

▸How to be Ailment Immune?

Using Stormshroud together with boots that have suffix + implicit to Avoid Shock can make you fully ailment immune if needed.

▸ Anoints

Whispers of Doom is the most common anoint for Elementalist builds since x2 curses hhelps A LOT with single target damage.
Cheap option should be Deadly Draw which can boost our Ignite damage
Charisma is always a possibility if you need a mana fix

Life Mastery (2)

Skills Cost Life instead of 15% of Mana Cost

15% increased maximum Life if there are no Life Modifiers on Equipped Body Armour

Reservation Mastery (1)

8% increased Damage for each of your Aura or Herald Skills affecting you

Block Mastery (1)

+1% Chance to Block Spell Damage per 5% Chance to Block Attack Damage

Armour and Energy Shield Mastery (1)

20% reduced Effect of Curses on you

Mana Mastery (1)

12% increased Mana Reservation Efficiency of Skills

▸How to Get Endurance Charges?

Best way to get Endurance Charges for any Elementalist builds is getting Small Cluster Jewel with Enduring Composure ASAP.

Anointing Inexorable, Aggressive Bastion or Disciple of the Unyielding is an option too but always choose Enduring Composure if possible for better uptime.

▸What to do with Mana Cost?

Early on you can use Eldritch Battery but after it - getting enough mana regen instead is better, cause energy shield will boost your survivability.

Main sources of Mana regeneration are Summon Lightning Golem, rolls on the items (mostly rings and shield) + Mystic Bulwark can be an amazing mana fix since we max Spell block anyway.

▸What kind of Timeless jewel you need?

Any hubris with Elegant Hubris (Caspiro Supreme Ostentation) - Supreme Ostenation.

If you can get a usefull bonus in place of Deep Wisdom - even better.

Good bonuses are Phys Dmg, Block, Mana Reservation.

▸How to use Flame Surge?

Flame Surge is the bossing skill, use it on the boss after you ignited him with first cast of the EK to deal additional burning damage. No supports needed for it too.

▸At what point to swap to the Ethereal Knives of the Massacre?

It's better to swap to Massacre when you have ~10-12 millions of damage in POB at least.

You can also keep dmg and not swap at all.

Hello. How do you get a Dex in your build? Your build has 28 dex but chest requires 150+ dex.

Have been runnign end game frostbolt and wanted a EK variant that I coudl do for under 100 div. Switched to this oen and by far was signifcantly worse than any FB or normal EK set up. Unplayable couldnt finished 2 juiced maps. Switching back to FB until I get 400 div for EK i guess
