Build Overview

Here's my guide for my Cyclone Slayer League Starter to Endgame Build for Patch 3.27 Keepers of the Flame!

If you have any Questions - Come by my Twitch Here and I'll Help you out!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

🚨Work in Progress, be sure to come by the Twitch Stream for the Newest Skill Tree and Gems as I'm changing it to test new things!🚨

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In 3.27, Cyclone, Cyclone of Tumult, and Vaal Cyclone all got a 20% MORE Damage Buff which took the already solid build up another notch! It has great Clear Speed thanks to the AOE from Cyclone of Tumult, great Defenses thanks to Lucky Attack/Spell Block + Life/Armor Stacking, and great Bossing Damage to allow you to do nearly everything the game has to offer!

The build is great for League Starting as its great early on with little to no investment! What's even better is that it continues to scale really well into Endgame with some more Investment.

Mapping and Bossing will be handled by Cyclone of Tumult + Shockwave Support which will create mini earthquakes on Melee Hit for Extra Damage and Clear. We'll also use General's Cry + Autoexertion + Sunder / Ground Slam of Earthshaking for some additional Clear Speed and Damage. The Autoexertion Tech will Auto-Summon Mirage's which will use Sunder / Ground Slam of Earthshaking Automatically when there are corpses nearby. If there isn't any corpses, we'll use Desecrate to create corpses for us to use in scenarios like boss fights.

We'll buff our Damage and Defenses up with these Aura's/Supports -

Blood Rage for Frenzy Charges, Precision for Accuracy and Critical Hit Chance, Pride for More Physical Damage Dealt, Blood and Sand for More Area Damage, Flesh and Stone for More Physical Damage, Molten Shell + Cast when Damage Taken Support for Defense, Infused Channelling Support for Damage and Defense, War Banner for Accuracy/AOE/Damage, and Assassin's Mark + Mark On Hit Support for Power Charges/Crit.

Credit to Sanavixx as I based this builds design heavily on what I learned from him. Be sure to check out his Twitch and YouTube as he helped me learn my 1st POE League.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • 360° Huge AOE Clear
  • Smooth and Easy Bossing
  • Decently Tanky
  • Very Easy League Starter
  • Scales to Ubers
  • Immune to Phys/Ele Reflect
  • Not Giga Fast Movement Speed until Mageblood
  • Need Currency for Uber Scaling

Build Variants

I use Splitting Steel for the first few levels until we get Sunder at Level 12/13 (Enter Merveil's Cavern) but feel free to use whatever you prefer. Ground Slam and Spectral Throw are both great options.

Use the Impaling Uulgraft for extra Chance to Impale and Impale Effect and the Molten Xophgraft for the Damage Reduction.

Plated Gauntlets

Remember to utilize the CRAFTING BENCH to fill one empty Affix slot on an item!

Weapon:

This is the MOST important piece of all your gear as this will drastically Increase or Decrease your DPS based on if you get the right roll.

You're going to want a Two-Handed Sword or Two-Handed Axe with Increased Physical Damage. Other Stats to look out for are Added Damage to Attacks, Attack Speed, +1 Level of Socketed Gems, Strength, and Accuracy.

You can Craft a Warstaff/Two-Handed Axe/Sword/Mace by using a Vendor Recipe. You'll put a Blacksmith Whetstone + Magic/Rare Rustic Sash + Two-Handed Weapon of your choice into the Sell Tab of a Vendor and it will give you Increased Physical Damage on that Weapon!

You can also use Essences to Upgrade White Base Two-Handed Weapons you come across/buy. The Essence of Contempt will GUARANTEE Added Physical Damage to Attacks and give it some other random mods. Essences are a great way early on to gamble on decent White Bases for a upgrade to ANY gear pieces.

Body Armor:

Early on you'll take any piece of gear with any stats but you should prioritize getting your Links Correct and Increasing your Max Life. You're going to need a Green-Red-Red Link for Splitting Steel and a Green-Red-Green Link for Leap Slam (If you want faster Attack Speed). Once your links on your gear is good, go for Max Life, Resistances, Armor, and Attributes.

Gloves:

You're going to need a Green-Red-Red Link for Splitting Steel and a Green-Red-Green Link for Leap Slam (If you want faster Attack Speed). Once your links on your gear is good, go for Max Life, Attack Speed, Resistances, Attributes, Armor, and Added Damage to Attacks.

Helmet:

You're going to need a Green-Red-Red Link for Splitting Steel and a Green-Red-Green Link for Leap Slam (If you want faster Attack Speed). Once your links on your gear is good, go for Max Life, Resistances, Attributes, and Armor.

Boots:

You're going to need a Green-Red-Red Link for Splitting Steel and a Green-Red-Green Link for Leap Slam (If you want faster Attack Speed). Once your links on your gear is good, go for Movement Speed, Max Life, Resistances, Attributes, and Armor.

Movement Speed is the most important thing to look out for if you wanna go fast!

Belt:

I like the Rustic Sash base since it gives us Increased Global Physical Damage but getting a belt in general in Act 1 is nice so anything will suffice. Go for Max Life, Max Mana, Resistances, Attributes, and Armor.

Amulet:

Any Amulet is better than no Amulet this early so wear what you get. Go for Added Damage to Attacks, Increased Armor, Max Life, Max Mana, Accuracy, Regenerate Life, and Mana Regeneration.

Rings:

Any Ring is better than no Ring this early so wear what you get. Go for Added Damage to Attacks, Max Life, Max Mana, Attack Speed, Accuracy, Regenerate Life, and Mana Regeneration.

Flasks:

This is entirely dependent on your preferences but I like to run 2 Large Life Flask , 1 Large Mana Flask, and 2 Quicksilver Flask. Feel free to use whatever you like but have at least 1 Quicksilver Flask for Movement Speed.

We'll grab Master of the Arena and Bravery first for the Damage, Life, and Armor and then get Art of the Gladiator for the AS/Dex/Movement Speed. Grab Destroyer for some Damage and we'll start pathing to Spirit of War for the Reduced Mana Cost.

Here's the Skill Gems and Support Gems and How to Acquire Them. I've included Optional's for those who want to as many buttons to press as possible.

  • After killing Hillock (Tutorial Boss), take Splitting Steel as your reward.
Buy Chance to Bleed Support and Link it, remove Double Strike.
  • Look out for a 3-Linked (3L) item with 2 Red & 1 Green socket (2R, 1G).
  • After Mercy Mission quest (Tidal Island Zone):
Choose Ruthless Support as your reward. Save it for Sunder. (Slot it in a socket to level it)
  • After Breaking Some Eggs quest (Mud Flats Zone), buy these gems from Nessa:
Frostblink / Dash - DO NOT LEVEL IT UP!
You can right-click its level-up icon to move it into your inventory and get it off your screen.
Blood and Sand - Optional if you have enough Mana to sustain. Toggle on and ALWAYS STAY IN BLOOD STANCE!
Once activated, you can toggle the skill to switch between the two stances.
War Banner - Optional if you want to Min-Max your Single Target Damage. Place when Valour is High and ready for DPS on Boss/Rare
  • After The Caged Brute quest, take Leap Slam as a reward and BUY the rest from Nessa:
Buy Faster Attacks Support and Link it to Leap Slam, Optionally Buy Momentum Support and Link it to Leap Slam, Buy Maim Support and Save for later (Slot it in a socket to level it), Buy Lifetap Support and Save for Later (Slot it in a socket to level it)
If you don't have enough currency to grab all of these gems at once, don't worry - just keep coming back & buying them occasionally.
  • Once you arrive in Merveil's Caverns, IMMEDIATELY grab the Waypoint and go back to town to acquire Sunder (Replace Splitting Steel with it)

How it Plays

Spin with Cyclone of Tumult to kill things, the corpses will then turn into Mirage Warriors thanks to General's Cry and Autoexertion which will use Ground Slam of Earthshaking Automatically for us. Shockwave Support will Auto-Proc on hit for extra damage and clear speed. Use Blood Rage for Attack Speed and Frenzy Charges. Be sure to keep moving as much as possible and use Frostblink to move while still spinning.

In Boss Fights, use Desecrate to spawn corpses for Autoexertion and General's Cry so we can get extra damage from Ground Slam of Earthshaking. Drop War Banner at the Bosses feet and stick close to it for a HUGE DPS Increase. Use Blood Rage in the Boss Fight to refresh the buff for Increased Attack Speed.
