Overview

Path of Exile has a Vendor Recipe system that allows you to sell particular assortments of items to receive guaranteed outcomes. In this guide, we'll highlight a handful of extremely useful Vendor Recipes.

A Brief Introduction to Vendor Recipes

How it works

Vendor Recipes require the use of an NPC that offers the option for you to sell items to them.

The 'Sell Items' option can be selected on various NPC interfaces

Vendor Recipes are not detailed in game. However, offering the correct items in the Vendor Sell window will show the Vendor's Offer to you, so you're able to review the transaction result before accepting the trade to ensure you're happy!

When you offer an assortment of items that make up a complete Vendor Recipe, the NPC will produce a guaranteed result than can be seen in the Vendor's Offer window. For example, in the image below we're offering an Iron Ring of any rarity, and a Skill or Support Gem. In return the NPC is offering the guaranteed result of this Vendor Recipe – a normal rarity resistance Ring, the type of which is based on the colour of Gem that we're offering.

An Iron Ring and a Gem can be sold to receive a Resistance Ring

In the above example, we're combining the Iron Ring with a Blue Gem, and therefore the Vendor Recipe result is a normal Sapphire Ring that provides Cold Resistance.

The colour of Gem determines the outcome type of Resistance Ring

If we used a Red Gem in the above example, the result would have instead been a Ruby Ring that provides Fire Resistance, and if we used a Green Gem it would have been a Topaz Ring for Lightning Resistance. This is one such example of a Vendor Recipe, but as you can see, sometimes the components of a recipe can be modified slightly to alter the outcome.
