PoE 2: Rogue Exiles

Rogue Exiles are coming to Path of Exile 2 as part of the Dawn of the Hunt update on April 4th!

What are Rogue Exiles?

Rogue Exiles are Unique Monsters that can rarely be found in Maps. There are a total of 12 different Rogue Exiles, each with their own ability set and personalities!

They're just like you! Inhabitants that have been exiled, some are malicious, others have gone completely insane whilst a few of them are just hungry for loot - sound familiar?

When you encounter a Rogue Exile in a map, they'll challenge you - a fight to the death!

How are Rogue Exiles different from other Monsters?

Rogue Exiles are special in that they essentially mimic an exile lost in the Atlas. They're smarter than the average Monster, using player Skill Gems and even have the ability to Dodge Roll.

They also use real Unique items that players can use and they're not just cosmetic - they actually inherit the stats on those items too, so be careful!

Rogue Exile Rewards

So Rogue Exiles are going to be difficult encounters, but will they be rewarding? The answer to that is yes, and potentially very rewarding. Remember those Unique items that Rogue Exiles actually use? They'll be displayed under their Life bar similar to Monster modifiers. Upon slaying a Rogue Exile, they will drop all listed Unique items that they were wearing for you to loot!

This means you could rarely encounter a Rogue Exile wearing an incredibly valuable Unique item such as Astramentis. Killing the Exile will guarantee the Amulet drop!

What if I fail to slay the Rogue Exile?

The alure of valuable Unique items will surely get some overconfident players killed. If the Rogue Exile kills you and you're solo, or if they kill your entire party, they will Portal out just like you and leave the Map forever. You need to be mindful with how you approach these encounters as a result.

A Different Type of Encounter

Rogue Exiles have been designed so that each encounter with one feels like a unique battle - they use different assortments of Skills and come equipped with random Unique items. They also have more interesting AI compared to other Monsters.

Rogue Exiles have smart pathfinding, making them harder to track and Hit with your Skills. They also have smart targeting, tracking your every move, so watch out for their dangerous Skills such as Hammer of the Gods.
