Equipment Priority
+11
  • TOP PRIORITY : Good 1H or 2H Mace
  • At First, the best way to get better gear in the campaign is to check the Vendor each level up because they change their offerings as you reach another level ! You can find good stats for your Gear or even Rare items. You can check also for promising bases to craft on with Orbs. GG way to Extra Upgrades !
  • BIS DPS STATS : Even if you can deal more damage with 2H Maces, it will depend of your personnal preference or gameplay. Look for the highest DPS 2-handed Maces available to you. Using strong 1-handers with a shield whenever you find one is fine too. You increase your weapons DPS by looking for the following stats, sorted by order of importance:
    • High physical damage on the base weapon type
    • % increased Physical Damage
    • Adds # to # Physical Damage
    • %# increased Attack Speed
    • Adds # to # Fire/Cold/Lightning Damage
  • BIS DEFENSIVES STATS : Most of the damage you take during the campaign outside of Boss/Rare encounters is Physical Damage. Armour massively reduces that damage, so look out for high Armour rolls on your gear. With Sturdy Metal 80% of your Physical Damage Reduction comes from your Body Armour. Make sure it has the highest Armour value it can have.
Then, Prioritize on remaining pieces Maximum life, as welle as+#% to Fire, Cold and Lightning Resistance.
  • BONUS STATS : Some extra "+Spirit" rolled for example on your amulet or body armor can gives you opportunity to fit in more auras.
  • To finish you can upgrade your equipment and use one or two artificer orbs, or armourer's scrap and socket iron runes for exemple. You can also use the blacksmith's whetstone to further increase your weapon's DPS.

How it Plays

ACT I
You can play with 1 hand mace or 2 hand mace,

The first act is really not bad with shield + 1H mace to benefit from the mobility of the Shield Charge , the Raise Shield also allows you to delay without having to dodge everything, during Earthquake and before Boneshatter primed stuns ennemies. Shockwave Totem will gives you extra damage. Check that your Herald of Ash is active. If the timing allows you, place well Perfect Strike for huge damage !

Concretely, before getting Leap Slam the gameplay loop looks like :
Boneshatter the primed for stun ennemies in priority, if they not primed stun > Place Shockwave Totem > then cast two Earthquake > activate the Infernal Cry for more damage > you can also heavy stun the monsters with Mace Strike or Mace Strike.

ACT II
With Leap Slam the gameplay will change. The Idea of the build is to clear by priming the enemies for stun with Leap Slam and then pulverize the pack with Boneshatter. If they still not primed. You can add some Mace Strike after dodge roll when landing (cancel animation mechanics) for heavy stun ennemies.

Use cancel animation after landing with Leap Slam for smoother gameplay. see F.A.Q part.

Against Boss
On boss if the Shockwave Totem not survive, it is not obligatory to use it as it costs a lot of mana. Well placed Perfect Strike improved by Infernal Cry and Earthquake will do the job associated with spamming Mace Strike and Boneshatter !

ACT III, CRUEL & REST OF THE CAMPAIGN
The gameplay loop will still the same for trash ennemies playing around Leap Slam, Molten Blast for prime stun and Boneshatter , but now we'll add the POWERFULL Hammer of the Gods against any durable targets !

  • Heavy Stun any durable enemies with Leap Slam or Mace Strike or Perfect Strike first. Use Seismic Cry and Infernal Cry and then use Hammer of the Gods on the stunned mob.
  • Seismic Cry Seismic Cry doubles the damage of your next slam when ennemies are Heavy Stunned. This means stunning the enemy first is extremely valuable for the ONE SHOT SET UP !

If well geared, you'll be able to oblitarate and one shot heavy bosses !

How it Works

F.A.Q

  • Do you Have a video of this Build ?
Yeah, on my Youtube Channel, you can also check some other PoE 2 on my streaming networks.
    Youtube : https://www.youtube.com/@sagittarian_tv
    Twitch : https://www.twitch.tv/sagittarian_tv

ACT I AND II

  • What about the boss fight ?
On boss if the Shockwave Totem not survive, it is not obligatory to use it as it costs a lot of mana. Well placed improved Perfect Strike by Infernal Cry and Earthquake will do the job associated with spamming Mace Strike and Boneshatter ! And then later will come the Hammer of the Gods !
  • What about "More damage with Two Handed Mace" points in the Passive tree ?
Shockwaves, Singular Purpose or Heavy Contact are great for your build if your sure to play only with Two Handed Mace only. Big Damage addition ! Then take them blindly.
I didn't take the points for the first steps on purpose to give you the opportunity to switch your weapons set up and test what you prefer.

FOR THE ENTIRE CAMPAIGN

  • How Cancel animation work ?
Proper Dodge Roll allows you to feel a smoother gameplay and to avoid the "heavy landing" by holding down your Dodge Roll butt just before you land with Leap Slam. Its perfected usage improves the feel of the build massively.
How to proceed. Leap Slam -> Dodge Roll -> (Mace Strike into another Dodge Roll in case no monster got primed) -> Boneshatter a primed mob then you can do the same roll to cancel the end of the Boneshatter animation.
Then it will becomes a very natural and fluid combo.

Go check my video for see what it should look like? Click here for a video showcase.
  • How primed for stun works ?
Normal monsters are "primed for stun" when they have at least 40% Heavy Stun buildup. Magic enemies are Primed at 60% buildup, Rare at 70%, and Unique at 80%.
  • What about if I heavy Stun Too much directly or too little ?
You can find yourself sometimes run into situations where you do too much damage. You'll have to Avoid excessive +% Stun Buildup sources in the build or gear, in order to prevent leap slam from heavy stunning them directly. This issue can exist when doing severely under-leveled content, or when you got more and more stronger or with a stronger weapon. You can swap for a weaker weapon to brings prime stun back. Or alternatively use Earthquakes or even Molten Blast linked to Scattershot for light enemies.
And in cases of weak damage or where your leap slam doesn't stun, use Mace Strike right after after landing to guarantee a stun in almost situations.
  • Why Giant Blood's (Two Two handed Mace) show me less DPS on Gem Skill Menu ?
Because it shows only your main hand with 30% less damage, but it doesn't take in count your secondary hand also with 30% less damage. But you truely benefit of a juicy boost of +40% damage playing with dual two handed maces (100%-30% + 100%-30% = 140% damage to your attacks).
  • I don't have enought dex or intel for supports gem.
Well feel free to take some dex or intel in your passive tree (+5 all atributes).
