Build Overview

This is my league starter build for Invoker Monk and possibly Huntress / AMAZON

This build can be used to complete campaign and farm early maps, after that you can transition to the one of the following builds:

This guide will help you to pick the gear and gems and will help you out while progressing.

In this build we are going to use 3 skills:

1. Lightning Rod - for Single Target Damage.

2. Lightning Arrow - To trigger Lightning Rod with Chains.

3. Stormcaller Arrow - as a base spammable clear skill.

Aim to find at least ONE or TWO Stats from the example items I provided above. Items just showcasing examples of good stats.

Weapon and Quiver:

Early on Aim for flat damage (both physical and elemental) and physical %. If you can get %Elemental damage with attacks or AS it will be fine as well.

Body and Helmet:

For Helmet aim for maximum Energy Shield to get the most from Subterfuge Mask.

At the rest of the gear just get Life + some resistances where you can.

Boots:

Here you just need to get Movement Speed and if possible some Life / Resistances.

Gloves:

Aim for flat Phys or Lightning Damage and Attack Speed there if you can.

Jewelry:

Use amulet to get Dexterity OR Intelligence for Hybrid armor requirements and roll more attributes + resistances on rings. If you can - try to get Lightning Damage to attacks as well.

Act 1 and VERY early game:

Take Lightning Arrow as your first gem and Lightning Rod from the first chest and use them together for basic progression.

Get Stormcaller Arrow as fast as it is available around lvl 5-6.

Early Game Supports:

Scattershot is your first pick for Lightning Rod + Chain for Lightning Arrow to trigger. Can get Concentrated Effect right after.

After that priorities Martial Tempo and Lightning Infusion for Stormcaller Arrow

Clear / Packs:

To clear the packs while running through we will use Stormcaller Arrow. That skill sticks an arrow to the enemy or piece of terrain and that arrow is hit with lightning after a little duration.

It has a pretty decent AoE, good damage and a very high chance to shock, so just spam it when you can.

Single target / Bosses:

1. Lightning Rod is our main single target damaging skill. Before 0.2 it was triggered with Orb of Storms but GGG added a delay for all triggers except Lightning Arrow.

Because of that we will use Lightning Arrow with Chain to trigger Lightning Rod without delay. Damage of Lightning Arrow is not important since it is just a trigger here, so don't worry about it.

Mechanic Itself is very simple, just use a Lightning Rod a few times and after that spam Lightning Arrow until boss is down or Lightning Rod disappeared. Repeat until you win!

2. We can also utilize Freezing Salvo together with Hourglass and Glaciation to freeze bosses and do a damage burst every 12-15 seconds. Just make sure that you are hitting with it.

Link and Quality Priority:

Stormcaller Arrow > Lightning Rod > Freezing Salvo > The rest

Auras and Spirit Management:

Herald of Thunder is here to proc Innervate so get it first. After that you can choose Ghost Dance if you are using hybrid armor or Wind Dancer if you are using evasion armor.

If you are a monk - After you will get Lead me through Grace... you can add Clarity or Cannibalism or just use both Ghost Dance and Wind Dancer if you have enough spirit.

Movement Skills:

As a movement skill use Shield Charge with a weapon swap. Make sure you have enough STR for it.

NEW GEMS in 0.2:

Gambleshot support can be used for Lightning Arrow (It is Tier 3).

Volt Support is also looking alright for Lightning Arrow (It is Tier 2).

ASCENDENCY PRIORITY:

Invoker Monk Build - I am the Thunder... > Lead me through Grace... > Unbound Avatar

Amazon Huntress - Predatory Instinct > Critical Strike > Infusion

MONK:

Early on aim for Flow State and after just progress to the right to reach Blinding Strike

After that you can progress to the right and take Killer Instinct and Wild Storm with Exposed to the Storm or progress to the Ranger zone and take everything up to Honed Instincts

Master Fletching should be picked only later on when you will have a better quiver.

Leave Subterfuge Mask and Mindful Awareness for end of the campaign OR take those if you lack defenses.

Coming Calamity together with the long road up to it should be picked LAST when everything else is already allocated.

AMAZON:

Use starting position to reach and progress up to Blinding Strike and Harness the Elements

When going into Monk zone stop at Flow State and do not go further.
