Build Overview

======================================================

WELCOME

This is a comprehensive Level 1 to Uber Endgame min/max variant guide.

(NEW INTRO NOTE:) IF you are inexperienced in POE mechanics, and are not willing to "deep dive" the content to learn this build, you will not enjoy this build.

IF you are new or casual, I take special care to make the progression VERY clear and obvious.

IF you are a veteran, the endgame version of this archetype is going to push the limits, and you will enjoy how it works.

I respond to all relevant comments on YT and am active in our Discord. We also have some other GOATed Gurus in the Discord @arq @cur$e and @i9314. Give your thanks to these goats.

Please post questions in the Spark channel in Discord. TYTY GL! <3

Updates (09/06)

======================================================

Explanation of Primary End Game Mechanic

The main thing GGG targeted in caster nerfs for 0.5 is RESOURCE REPLENISHMENT. We caster bros have rushed to find more hacks at this, and GGG continues to slough off new findings. One methodology that should not get nerfed (because it is so core to Infernalist) is the node Pyromantic Pact.

Pyro Pact removes our mana (completely), and gives us infinite resources (literally). It also inverts how resources get used (rather than going from full to empty, they go from empty to full and reset). When your "mana" (called Infernal Flame) gets full, you take ALL OF YOUR HEALTH and ES as damage to yourself (sounds bad, right?).

Believe it or not, this build inverts this downside into an upside with recoup. We stack life/energy shield recoup, slot in Sacrosanctum, and become nearly invincible while also completely removing the downside from Pyromantic Pact and giving ourselves essentially infinite mana.

The mechanic is so powerful, and we invert the downside so dramatically, that we actually WANT to take the damage downside MORE frequently. So anywhere we can actually reduce our mana pool and increase the cost of spells turns into a GOOD thing.

Also, because our recoup becomes routinely 4000+ life/ES replenishment per second, in the early/cheaper endgame variant we can stack infinite Demon Form + Demonic Possession, giving us limitless spell damage over the course of an instance. In the later/$$$$ endgame variant, we drop Demon Form and stack crit with Grinning Immolation and a set of low life techs related to Coward's Legacy, Pain Attunement, and Execute III. The final form pulls off the traditional delete-any-boss-in-seconds mode without any pre-conditions.

Quest Bonuses:

A2 - Charm Duration (Valley of Titans)

A3 - Ailment Threshold (Venom Crypts)

A4 - 3x Resists (Halls of the Dead)

A4 - Eye of Hinekora (DO NOT VENERATE for the MANA - actually bad for the build, skip)

A4 - Life Recovery from Flasks (Abandoned Prison)

A4 - 30% Armour, Evasion, ES (The New Thing: Shark Fin)

I2 - Resists (Qimah)

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • End game archetype relies on complex interactions that are difficult to understand
  • If you are not familiar with Spark skill rotation/playstyle in campaign and early mapping, you will struggle

Build Variants

VARIANT: Early Mapping (T1-T9)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've added this variant by demand to assist with the transition to the end game archetype playstyle / interaction.

The key for scaling in maps is:

1 - Don't swap too early. Keep your Demon Form capped at 10-stack until you have 100% recoup, 6-link Spark or Frostbolt, and lots of cast speed. Yours rares need to be aligned with the archetype (see video). Ideally level 83 for skill tree requirements... you also MUST HAVE high level gems (19 level base and scaled gem levels on gear).

2 - Continue to do your rotation very carefully. It is Frost Bomb / Orb of Storms / Sigil of Power / Flame Wall / Spark. Stay in the Sigil, and repeat. Maximize the Cold-Infused sparks (double damage), the stacks of Unleash on spark, and the 30% more damage buff from Flame Wall on Spark.

3 - Read Cast on Critical gem. JUST your Crit Chance is not all that is needed to proc Comet. You need good damage, and generally weakening the boss is going to make them more susceptible to your % of energy gain from the gem interaction.

4 - Take Summon Infernal Hound and The Bringer of Rain on Ascendancy while you stack $$$ for the swap.

5 - Start to slowly improve all your rare gear (you want max life, strength, NO MANA, energy shield, and resists ... on rings you want some caster modifiers on there [see the breach tree]).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Itemization

1 --> Wait on a Dueling Wand until you can get a good one.

2 --> If you are poor, craft a giga 2-handed staff. (Buy a 6-stat REALLY strong one for 1-2 Exalt [Damage as Extra %, Spell Damage, Cast Speed, Lightning Damage, etc. ... Slam it with a Perfect Essence of Sorcery. Don't slam the Cast Speed and you are good to go)

3 --> Maligaro's Virtuosity and Heroic Tragedy are too expensive if you are poor, so invest your money elsewhere during this phase.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Skill Gems

Here's the key updates:

  • Make sure to get Vilenta's Propulsion for Spark
  • Quality up your Sigil of Power on the Chiming Staff for more AOE, and socket the supports
  • Put Fortress II in your Flame Wall; stand in the center of it, and ALL Spark Proj will be buffed (use Lightning Infusion on the wall for double-buff)
  • Add Doedre's Undoing to Elemental Weakness for persistent ground curse. This makes it more usable in regular situations (beefy rares, and of course bosses)
  • Note that Siphon Elements is not really that important. If you are starved for spirit, let it go.
  • Quality on Cast on Critical lowers the spirit cost.
  • Summon Infernal Hound is a nice defensive bonus. Socket it up.

I don't know what's the point of this (definetly not) comprehensive guide if you have to build intuition to fulfil all the details you are missing.

Despite the learning curve the whole thing is like a sand castle, if you are "not poor" this and that...
Not gonna say whether you should play it or not, personally I made to T15 and it still feel like crap, just gave up, but good luck.

This build just sucks to play, at least early in maps. I'm sure it can get crazy late, but the experience is just miserable while you're gearing.

First major issue is that you simply cannot play half the waystones, as if they have reduced life and ES recovery, you're cooked, so that's a massive annoyance right off the bat.

Second issue is that to do damage, you need to enter nuclear launch codes every few seconds or it just doesn't do anything, you have to stay in the sigil of power and shoot through the fire wall, so positioning is also super annoying.

Why would I play a build that requires a PHD to play and still struggle, when I can play literally anything else and perform way better way earlier for way less investment and use 5% of the brainpower needed to play this build

It is interesting, and well done making it, but it was a massive mistake for me personally investing currency and time into this one, so anyone looking into this one, be careful

My pc cant handle so many frostbolts so I combined it with a arc stormweaver build and it works really well.

You cannot use Compressed Duration I or Compressed Duration II on the Time of Need skill anymore because the interval between its blessings is no longer classified as a skill duration.

what do i do?

Deets2d ago

Yeah they changed that, i just didnt socket any support gems in time of need.

This is rough for newer players, like me. If I’d picked an oracle or gemling I’d be at 15’s easily and im just getting to the interludes…but i am plugging along. It looks cool and fun and i have a buddy that played a similar one in .5 and it looked amazing. I hope i can get to that point but it is very slow going.

I can still appreciate the effort, thank you for the guide.

For From Nothing, Heart of the Well, and Megalomaniac what exactly do you go for?

0
C
CoolMask5d ago

either CI or conduit from nothing. He's only doing it to pick up strong nodes from the timeless jewel, which you can't really check ahead of time. It's in the description for one of the variants, but it's probably skippable

This is my first time playing PoE2 and i chose this build blindly and i will say this build was ROUGH to go through i feel like the guide didnt explain very well but after trial and error i was able to slog through the campaign and now at maps im loving this build, its really fun and a neat interaction. The hardest part for me was interlude because you put the spellslinger and cast on critical in the skill gems and i was very confused how im supposed to use the dueling wand if im not level 65.

I will say i learnt a lot playing this build and i cant wait to try out more unique builds like these!

Please link a POB other than the ward-stacker. This website doesn't show what neck variant you're using, what from nothing you're using, what heart of the well you're using, what mega you're using, etc.

Funniest build I have played! It is a hard learning curve. And you have to adjust and tweak when numbers change.
And if you dont understand the mechanics, go play something else.

Done the build from level 1, with no issues!

Blah blah watch video blah blah make an effort.

This is not a comprehensive Level 1 to Uber Endgame min/max variant guide

Every build variant below endgame (cheap) is TRASH

COC + Mana remnants + Siphon elements on A4+IL? 160 spirit, seriously? Also it says MANA = BAD even in campaign. sure buddy, good luck with playing on 600 mana when single spark shots eats 100+

got even better gear than A4+IL shows, getting a 1300 dps tooltip with no mana sustain.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME IN CAMPAIGN WITH THIS BUILD, IT'S START TO WORKING ONLY AFTER ENDGAME (CHEAP) VARIANT, AND ONLY AFTER LVL 68

RustyGolem7d ago

Also dont be fooled and dont allocate nodes with crit dmg bonus if you use maligaro virtuosity gloves, it gives 250% fixed.

F
FierceDragon6d ago

I have done this build from lvl 1. Don't waste your time bashing on a build, just because you dont understand it.

0
B
BoldDagger6d ago

bro u get 100 spirit as quest reward now u only need to get 60 per body armour and amulet xd

mana=bad should be obviously true only if u swap to infernal pact variant (much later) xd

i sniped some maligaros. they are not expensive anymore. read ur items and passives and spells and support gems... i ravaged cleared maps for blue items to sell for gold bc i respecced a lot. thats just normal for builds with many transitions.

if you want to use your spell level 1 to uber play ED, plants etc
