Overview
This build is run-and-gun crossbow character that focuses on moving fast! That is why we also take advantage of the Reverse Chill Mechanic to give us a ton of action speed! It is a 2-button playstyle that uses
Armour Piercing Rounds and
Voltaic Barrier to allow us to coat our enemies in a flurry of electrified bullets.
Play this build if you are looking for a low-barrier to entry, fun, and fast bullet-hell styled character.
Why Martial Artist?
Way of the Stonefist provides a bunch of positive benefits to this build - most importantly, survivability. Playing Reverse Chill requires us to use
Sierran Inheritance, which strips us of a ton of defenses. But with
Way of the Stonefist, we are able to use our gloves to make up for a lot of that missing survivability.
This ascendancy also allows us to use some snapshotting shenanigans with
Duality and
Voltaic Barrier to further increase our survivability.
All-in-all, this is the most well-rounded ascendancy for this build.
How does Reverse Chill Work?
Normally Chill reduces our Action Speed - this means that everything we do from attacking to even putting down a portal gets slowed. But with
Sierran Inheritance, that reduction in Action Speed turns into an increase in Action Speed, which means everything that we do becomes faster! So it is extremely beneficial to our fast-paced run-and-gun playstyle.
How we proc reverse chill is with the
Scold's Bridle helmet. This item allows us to hurt ourselves whenever we use any skill that costs mana. And if we scale this damage high enough compared to our Ailment Threshold, it allows us to get a high magnitude of chill on ourselves.
One thing to note is that
Chaos Inoculation no longer reduces our Elemental Ailment Threshold, so we need to make sure our Maximum life is as low as possible without
Chaos Inoculation.
Watch the YouTube video for a deeper explanation of how to increase the magnitude of chill we put on ourselves.
