On the surface, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales may seem like your basic "save the princess" storyline. And while that's certainly true to an extent, the lore of the characters and the world goes much deeper, if you're willing to uncover its secrets.
Unlike the rest of your adventure, the game doesn't hold your hand to reach the finish line. In fact, if you simply follow along, there's a good chance you'll be disappointed by its conclusion.
However, there's no need to worry, as the game will let you continue from your previous save state. This means you can turn around and complete more objectives to alter the course of the story. Let's dive in.

Spoiler Warning
Before we get started, consider this your warning to read at your own risk. We've tried to keep spoilers to a minimum and will avoid sharing many screenshots.
This guide will focus on the essential steps that are required in order to unlock each ending. As for the micro tasks and moments in between, we'll leave those for you to discover.
Our Recommendation
We strongly recommend playing through and experiencing all three endings to get the most out of the story. Start with the "Bad Ending", follow it up with the "Good Ending", and then tie everything together with the "True Ending".
Important Note: Progressing too far along into the True Ending path will lock you out of both the Bad Ending and the Good Ending. Make sure you keep extra saves if you want to stay as blind as possible.
How to Unlock the Bad Ending
In order to unlock the Bad Ending of the game, simply play through and follow along with the main story. You'll know you're approaching the end once you acquire the Tracing Needle. Afterwards, the lead up to the final boss should be pretty evident (the main story marker will be purple).
If your exploration has presented you with the Mystic Seal, do not use it here. If you know, you know.
How to Unlock the Good Ending
The first step to unlocking the Good Ending is to ignore the main story objectives after obtaining the Tracing Needle and speaking with Euygene.
Next, you'll need to acquire the Leytstaf, located within the Water Ruins in the Age of Reconstruction. This is required for the final fight and will also unlock the secret side stories.
Unlike the game's main story, there is no objective marker telling you where to go. In fact, it doesn't even tell you that they are available to begin with, so you'll need to discover them on your own.
Start by visiting the central area of Hitoyori to trigger the Age of Budding's side story. Upon reaching the end of its events, Lyudmila will give you the Lustrous Bell.
After finishing up the Age of Budding, you can proceed with the side stories in the Age of Reconstruction and the Age of Magic. In Littlehope, head towards the tavern to trigger its cutscene. As for Weyzn, walk towards the Formanit Institute past the shop area.
Lustrous Bell
With the Lustrous Bell in hand, you now have the ability to seek out the three Sages. In order to unlock their locations, speak with the Ailurophilic Traveler in the Age of Budding, Age of Reconstruction, and Age of Magic.
You must meet with the Sages from the Age of Budding and Age of Reconstruction first. Otherwise you will lack the ability to seek out the Sage in the Age of Magic.
For more details about their locations, check out this guide.
Mystic Seal
After obtaining the knowledge of the Mystic Seal, now you can proceed with the main story objective. When you reach the final boss, make sure the finishing blow comes from a fully charged Leytstaf attack.
How to Unlock the True Ending
For the True Ending, we're going to assume you've unlocked the Good Ending already. If not, follow all of the steps above to experience the side stories and obtain the Lustrous Bell and Mystic Seal.
After that, do NOT proceed with the main story objective. Instead, head towards each of the following destinations and complete their events to experience new storylines towards uncovering the truth.
Make sure you follow the destinations in order, and only once you've completed the prior events.
Lyudmila's house in Whiterea (Age of Budding)
Māo's house in Whiterea (Age of Magic)
Māo's house in Whiterea (Age of Reconstruction)
Kingdom of Huther (Age of Safekeeping)
Amber Pendant
Once you've completed all of the events, go to Princess Heuria's room to obtain the Amber Pendant. This will allow you to finally proceed with the main story objective, but don't forget to equip it!
Northern Tower
This time, the task is not to defeat the boss, but to successfully time a Precise Guard three times against its melee attacks. If done correctly, you'll officially be on your way towards the True Ending.
Some new Side Quests will now be available, but only for a limited time. Be sure to complete them ASAP if you don't want to miss out. The game will warn you of this.
The Three Sages & Collecting Cats
After proceeding through the cutscenes, the next task will be to speak with each of the Three Sages once again (they are in the same locations as before).
Once you're finished, the final step is to collect enough cats to proceed with the story. The exact number is unknown, as there have been several reports with varied amounts. But you'll know whether you have enough by speaking again with the Sages.
And that's where we'll see ourselves off... Enjoy the rest of your adventure!
