Palworld 1.0 made some major changes to Breeding Trees, changing some easy ways to get certain Pals, like Anubis, to be more in-line with the proper progression. There are some ways to accelerate that and this guide will show you how to get Pals like Anubis, Jormuntide, Eidrolon, and more early. To start, you need to unlock the Breeding Ranch at Level 19, after you defeat the 2nd Tower Boss Lily and Lyleen.
In order to breed, you need Cake, which requires: Flour (Made from Wheat in the Mill), Red Berries (Berry Plantation), Milk (Mozzarinain the Ranch), Egg (Chikipiin the Ranch), and Honey (Beegarde in the Ranch).
Every Pal in this guide is either very strong in combat, or the highestpossible Work Suitability available through breeding. Some Pals, like Tower Bosses, and Legendaries (eg. Jetragon), are not accessible through Breeding.
**NOTE**
This list is formatted in a way to where you will be breeding Pals that will be used again in Breeds further down the list.
Setup
What You Need
Step 1: Unlock the Breeding Ranch, requiring Level 19, defeating Lily and Lyleen (2nd Tower Boss), and 2 Ancient Technology Points.
Step 2: Catch a Sparkit, a very early Pal located here:
Step 3: Catch a Relaxaurus, found here:
Step 4: The most tedious and time consuming part, fly/travel up and down the coast of Mount Obsidian, and look for Huge Scorching Eggs and Large Scorching Eggs, both of which contain Blazamut and Blazehowl respectively. Here is the location for eggs in the area:
By now, you should have your Ranch for breeding, a Relaxaurus, a Sparkit, a Blazamut, and a Blazehowl, which are essentially the only 4 Pals you need to breed some of the strongest Pals that can be bred.
Partner Skill: Guardian of the Desert - When activated, Anubis changes the player's attack type to Ground and increases Attack by 30%. Occasionally evades attacks with a flash sidestep during battle.
Anubis has been one of the strongest Pals in the game since the beginning of Palworld, and this continues in 1.0. Anubis is great in both your party for combat, as well as in your base, whether you choose to utilize it for Handiwork, or Mining. It isn't too difficult to acquire, as most Pals in this are caught around Lvl 35, but you can get lucky and get them earlier, if you want to try and spam throw spheres at Pals higher level than you. Otherwise, Anubis is only catchable from it's Alpha spawn at Level 55.
Now that you have Anubis, Jormuntide, Jormuntide Ignis, and Relaxaurus Lux bred as well, you can start to chain these together to get even more OP Pals. It is also a benefit to have both Jormuntide & Jormuntide Ignis, as they are incredibly strong Pals themselves.
**NOTE** Jormuntide has the highest available Watering stat obtainable thru Breeding (Level 7 Watering)
Partner Skill: Electro-Massage Incubation - Can be ridden as a flying mount. While at a base, shortens the amount of time it takes to incubate eggs by 20%. (Does not stack)
Dynamoff has the highest obtainable Electricity stat available thru Breeding. It also does have a beneficial Partner Skill for breeding, speeding up the process of egg incubation itself. It is also a somewhat decent flying mount, but Beakon is better than it for the stage of the game you get access to it's saddle. It is definitely worthwhile to get these bred up for generating electricity in your base.
Partner Skill: Burning Future - While in party, when the player attacks an enemy afflicted with Burn, the enemy explodes, dealing damage equal to 40% of the player's Attack damage to nearby enemies. (Does not stack)
Since you did most of the heavy lifting when breeding Anubis, you have an easy path to Flaracle. Flaracle is an amazing attacker to have in your party, and if you want to, you could make an entire build around Burn and Flaracle's Partner Skill. It will also make an amazing addition to your base, with extremely high Kindling stat.
Renjishi is the Highest Base Kindling Pal in the game, with Level 8 Kindling. This is a MUST get for your base so you can fly through any sort of Refinement you may need in your base at any level of the game. It is also quite strong, but not as strong as Flaracle, however, you can combine the two Partner Skills of Renjishi and Flaracle for some fun build potential.
Partner Skill: Liberated Pterosaur - Can be ridden as a flying mount. This Pal's Attack and Movement Speed increase by 2% for each Dark or Dragon Pal in your party.
Eidrolon is one of the best flying mounts in the game, the only issue with getting it this early, is you won't be able to unlock it's saddle until endgame. However, it is still absolutely useful for it's Level 6 Transporting skill in your base, and it's ridiculous base stats for combat. Eidrolon is an absolute monster of a Pal that will take you through the entire game in your party, so definitely be sure to breed this one. You could even go one further step and breed an Eidrolon Ignis (slightly stronger base stats) by combing Eidrolon & Suzaku once you catch it as an alpha in the Desert biome.
Venusa is the highest breedable non-legendary/boss Pal in the game, which instantly makes it one you should be getting ahold of for your base work, specifically for those food farms to keep your Pals, and you, fed with the best possible food available to you at your current level.
Partner Skill: Chilled Whale Cruiser - Can be ridden. While in party, fishing minigames start with the capture gauge increased by 5%. Additionally, while the bars overlap, capture progress increases by 5%. (Does not stack)
Whalaska has the highest available Cooling stat in the game that is obtainable thru Breeding. It also has a great Partner Skill that is very beneficial to use while fishing, and if you are ignoring fishing, stop doing that. You can fish up Pals with some of the best Traits in the game thru the Fishing mechanics. It is an added bonus that it has a good typing of Ice/Water, and has some great base stats as well.
Partner Skill: Blessing of Purification - Can be ridden. This Pal's Attack and Movement speed increases by 2% for each other Neutral Pal in your party. When in party, recovers Health of the player and Party Pals by 0.15% per second. (Does not stack)
Step 1: Catch Croajiro, Incineram, Tetroise, Sekhmet, and Eikthyrdeer Terra.
Croajiro location:
Incineram location (Level 10):
(A Syndicate Thug will summon an Incineram, alongside another Thug who summons a LeezpunkLocated just underneath the Windswept Island Watchtower)
Tetroise location:
Sekhmet location:
Eikthyrdeer Terra location:
Step 2: Breed Incineram & Tetroise = Helzephyr
Step 3: Breed Helzephyr & Jormuntide = Frostplume
Step 4: Breed Croajiro & Relaxaurus Lux = Beakon
Step 5: Breed Beakon & Frostplume = Beakon Cryst
Step 6: Breed Beakon Cryst & Sekhmet = Gildane
Step 7: Breed Gildane & Eikthyrdeer Terra = Celesdir
Breed Tree:
Celesdir is the longest breed chain on the list by far, but it is quite accessible earlier in the game, around approximately level 35, which is when you are making your way thru the Desert Biome. Celesdir has the highest available Lumbering stat available thru breeding, which is one of the more important stats for keeping your wood stocked up, and is especially useful when you start to farm up Hardwood later on in the game. This specific breed chain is done in this way due to the Pals you gain access to along the way as well. Beakon, Helzephyr, and Beakon Cryst are all great mid game to early endgame flying mounts, and Gildane is one of the better early endgame ground mounts.
Ophydia has the highest available Planting stat that is obtainable thru Breeding. Ophydia is also a beefy tank that can deal out some great damage as well, making it a dual threat in both combat, as well as your base. Pair an Ophydia with a Venusa and those two will be taking care of your food farms at a great pace.
Partner Skill: Untainted Maiden - While in party, increases the player's Attack by 30% if all Pals in the party are different species. (Does not stack)
Step 1: Breed Jormuntide Ignis & Flaracle
Breed Tree:
Solenne is another top-tier pal, with it boasting the highest available Handiwork stat in the game. Not only does it have a massive benefit in your base, but it also has great combat stats, and a really good Partner Skill, which buffs the player's attack by 30% at level 1, and 80% at level 4, if all Pals are different species. You can come up with some pretty cool builds utilizing this Partner Skill.
