Steam Next Fest is Valve’s mega event where players can try out free demos of some upcoming games. During the week-long event (from June 15th to June 22nd), Steam gamers can try out a variety of games, ranging from cosy and relaxing to FPS, sims, and much more.
If you love relaxing simulation games, similar to Stardew Valley and other popular sim/open-ended games, then here are 8 games you should try in this week-long event.
If you like farming simulation and construction games, then Fairy Isle might be the game for you. Expected to launch in January next year, Floating Games is the perfect balance between farming, construction, gathering and maintaining a beautiful-looking island.
While the demo is extremely limited, there are many positives to take away from it. It has a lot of potential to be a construction and design dream, as the islands are extremely customisable and you can design everything the way you want, allowing you to create the ultimate comfy island for yourself.
From the creators Tiny Orbit, is a new idle market simulator called Corner Market that can be played in the background or on a second monitor. It is similar to TBH: Task Bar Hero, as it is an idle game that is played on the taskbar. In this demo, you take a backseat as a store manager. You order products, see your workers stack shelves, and see your shop grow and evolve over time. It
The game will be released in early access in July 2026, and the developers seem really hands-on. They have an active Discord server where they constantly respond to feedback and implement changes players want.
Design and Conjure is a highly anticipated game from the New Zealand indie studio, Tiny Kiwi Games. In the demo, you have around an hour and a half FULL gameplay where you can design rooms and outdoor spaces to your heart's content. During the demo, you can meet different characters and play with your special pet, Cosmo.
What I appreciate about this game is that it has a different style to lots of other cozy games. I am well-versed in the sim and cozy game genre, but this game feels different, and the story feels more compelling than most. You play as Dalia, who is a Witch who wants to restore her hometown and bring a bit of sass and glam back into the lives of the people who live there. If you’re going to try out any of the demos we recommend, make sure it is this one.
Cozy Cleaner, is a relaxing simulator game where players tidy, clean and organise messy rooms. From the creators Payoffgames, Cozy Cleaner is set to release on the 22nd of June, and I am super hyped for it. In the demo, your task is to clean and reorganise dirty rooms. It is as simple as that.
This game is very relaxing, with an amazingly calm atmosphere and a low-stress vibe, thanks to its cutesy, playful graphics. While I am not a huge fan of the game's ASMR feel, there are many promising aspects for those who like cleaning sim games like Pressurewasher Sim and House Flipper. There is some work to be done on this game, though the camera can be a bit clunky at times; hopefully, that is rectified when it launches.
Cozy Builder, unfortunately, doesn’t have a release date yet, but the demo has received positive reviews so far. From the Developers Pangea Game Studios, Cozy Builder gives you a small introduction to the game. The game has a beautiful, calm art style, and its animations are brilliant.
The game allows you to assemble buildings, decorate interiors and exteriors, and craft items and artisan goods. The demo is quite basic, but it does give you a feel for the game. There are NPCs you can interact with, everything is simple to understand, and the developers have made it relatively easy to understand missions and where to find resources.
This game is really casual and cozy, so if you like the idea of customising and building things, then this demo could be for you.
If you like design, specifically interior design, then I would recommend you try Room Craft. Room Craft is from Altai and StopMountain Studio, and offers players to customise and fully design their own room using a variety of different furniture and furnishings. Initially, this game reminded me of Houseflipper, as it offers a lot of customisation to create your dream rooms.
In the future, I expect this game to do really well, as the demo is somewhat limited in terms of progression; the full version appears to offer a deeper level of customisation, with more wall editing, furniture, and colours.
Our next pick is something slightly different, and more of a puzzle game, but if you like cozy, stress-free games, then Organize my Shop is the game for you. During the demo, you can play several levels, which give you a real feel for what to expect throughout the rest of the game. Created by Owl's Howls, this game lets you organize your supermarket shop and stack shelves.
What I really appreciate about this game is how super relaxing it is. There are no penalties if you do things wrong, no manager shouting at you when you make a mistake, and you can be fully immersed in the game. The graphics are beautiful and cozy, and each item looks very cute. The game is set to be released at the tail end of July 2026, and I am sure to add this to my wishlist.
Pack My Order is a very cute, simple yet satisfying game where you pick items from your store and add them to your cart. If you’ve ever had food or groceries delivered before, it is similar to that. Pack My Order is created by Owl’s Howls and has similar cute graphics to Organize my Shop.
The demo throws you straight in, getting you to pick key ingredients so customers can make their favourite snacks and dinners. The order lists can range from just a few items to a full-on shopping list, which offers some variety to the game.
The UI does take some getting used to before you can become more efficient at it, but with some play time, you’ll soon know where all the food items are. Admittedly, while playing, I did get annoyed with some of the sound effects, but that’s my personal opinion. Overall, I love the cute vibe, and with its release set for early August 2026, I think this could be a great casual game to pick up.
