Land Animal Locations

Finding animals to hunt on land is extremely easy in Resynced as every location is marked on your map. Even rarer variations, such as the White Jaguar, can now be found directly by looking at your world map.

Sea Animal Locations

Most players will come across Harpooning sometime after reaching sequence 3. To begin a harpooning activity, simply look for the icon on your world map and sail toward it until the 3D marker appears on the water’s surface.

Once you start the activity, your goal is simple: throw your harpoons at the circling sea animal until you’ve depleted its health. After your initial throw, it won’t be long before a mechanic activates in which the animal begins pulling your rowboat along the water at high speed, making aiming much harder.

Bones and Their Uses

Sometimes, when hunting animals, you'll receive an animal bone. This is a somewhat common extra drop that most land animals will give you when skinned. Think of bones in Resynced as a secondary currency, used to purchase additional land animal skins in general stores.

This is important because, as Edward, you’ll require the aforementioned skins to increase your combat abilities through the crafting menu. You’re also able to use bones to purchase the much larger sea animal bones. These are just as valuable, and also needed to upgrade crucial parts of Edward’s kit, including his maximum health capacity.

These purchases can get pricey, too. Some skins in particular can cost you three bones each. Considering that a bone isn’t guaranteed to drop from every hunted land animal, you’ll find yourself doing lots of hunting to secure the bones and skins needed to continue your journey in Resynced.

Upgrading the Jackdaw

Harpooning also comes with its fair share of upgrades to make your life a little bit easier. Visiting any harbourmaster will allow you to purchase three separate upgrades for your travels.

The first is your rowboat armor, which is necessary to prevent animals like the humpback whale from demolishing your boat during attacks. The second upgrade is your overall harpoon damage. As mentioned earlier, you have a limited supply of harpoons. Disposing of animals faster will not only speed up your hunts but also prevent you from failing them.

Speaking of harpoon count, the last upgrade will directly increase the number you can hold in your reserves, reducing the frequency of failures. It’s highly recommended you purchase at least one of each to start out, as this will make your journey much smoother when spearing on the seas.
