The following skills generally shouldn't be replaced, though there can be tripod alternatives:
- can be used to apply a shield at the cost of the bonus instant mana recovery
- can be used to speed up the animation at the cost of push immunity
- can be taken to increase identity gain with this skill
- can be used to increase damage reduction, in this case the attack speed buff is lost.
- if you are struggling with surviving
- if you are struggling with mana
- changes the shape to be broader
- can be taken to provide a self shield during the skill use
- can be replaced if you are not struggling with mana
- is usable and gives party members tenacity on teleport
Branding will be explained in the How To Play section.
is the recommended skill for branding because of how much a party gains from a single skill, not only does it brand the boss, but it also gives the party a movement and attack speed buff.
You can take or instead, though it is not recommended.
In the build above we use , but there are many viable alternatives you can use:
- , has good meter generation and stagger
- , the alternative grants mare identity but is harder to land
- , damage reduction skill but must be used at melee range making it less popular
- or
- , keep at level 4/7 because any more will increase mana cost.
- , if you need a stun, if not then keep at level 4
How to play
Depending on the party you are going with and their skill level I change my priorities to play around them. First the my priority list with a good/homework party:
- Keep Attack buff up
- Generate identity gauge as much as possible for identity attack buff
- Keep shields active as much as possible
If in an experienced or knowledgeable party then your priority should be keeping the attack buff up since they won't need as much shielding due to not getting hit as often.
Second the priority list with either a progress party or with a party which cleared the fight in the past but isn’t as good as someone who cleared the raid over 100+ times:
- Keep shields active as much as possible
- Generate identity gauge as much as possible for identity attack buff
- Keep Attack buff up
Since your party is less experienced, your priority should be keeping them all alive. Saving your party gold for potions makes them worry less about learning the raid or failing. You should still work to keep your attack buffs up. Always keep 1 orb for a heal to save someone from a dangerous situation.
- Cast to apply branding and keep as much uptime as possible.
- Cycle and to maintain your attack buff. These do not stack.
- Use you awakening as often as possible to generate identity orbs.
- Rotate and to shield your teammates. Hold on to one of them to shield for incoming mechanics so your dps can greed though the mechanic and keep dpsing.
- is your counter, destruction and stagger skill. It is a front attack so make sure to utilise this to get more stagger.
- is a purify, teleport and meter generation skill.
- is an attack speed buff.
- is a damage reduction skill.
- and are destruction and stagger skills.
- is a stun.

For the 5th engraving you have a choice between and .
- helps with stagger checks which become harder as the game progresses, it allows the DPS to focus on just dealing damage. You can also take dark grenades instead of whirlwinds.
- can increase the damage of your party, though it is less consistent.
In order to save gold, you can take the following Malus considerations when buying your accessories:
, avoid this at all costs to avoid getting caught due to long animations.
doesn't affect your buff scaling so feel free to have as much of this as you want if it makes your build cheaper.
won't affect you if you have .
won't have an effect on you within these brackets:
- Level 1 at 1570 swiftness
- Level 2 at 1690 swiftness
combat stats
Crit
Swiftness
Specialization
Endurance
Domination
Expertise
The main stat of Artist is Swiftness. Due to her scaling being bad on Spec you only really have this build path.
In order to achieve this stat distribution:
- Necklace - Swiftness + Spec
- Earrings - Swiftness
- Rings - Swiftness
- Bracelet - Swiftness + Spec

Full lvl 7 Gems is fine. There is some min maxing possible if you have the budget:
- Full Atk. Power buff uptime, you need a lvl 9 CDR gem on with roughly 1750 swiftness. This gives you enough time (0,5 seconds) to reposition yourself.
- Branding efficiency, depending on your swiftness you need to land the full duration of . You can basically remember for every 100 swiftness you are away from 1800 you need 1 higher lvl of cdr gem (1600 = lvl 9, 1700 = lvl 8, 1800 = lvl 7)
gear tripods
High priority:
Your focus should be on identity gain tripods and mana cost reduction tripods as those make your life a lot easier.
Medium Priority:
Next should be all tripods which increase the duration of buffs, increase shields, etc.
Low Priority:
Once you have high and medium priority tripods done you can focus on dmg tripods for solo content (Story, T3 Tower) and chaos dungeons.
Artists should go for the Yearning gear set to provide their party with a swiftness buff and damage increase.
Bracelets have a large pool of potential effects and it can get very expensive trying to obtain specific ones. The best way to approach this item is to use one with the correct combat stats for your build and not worry too much about the extra effects until you can afford to spend a significant amount of gold for them.
For combat stats, look for high Swiftness and Specialization, and if possible you should try to find Vitality, Max HP or MP Recovery as an already rolled bonus.
If you decide to start rolling for additional effects, look for any of the following:
- Dagger
- Expose Weakness
- Cheers
- Enlightenment
