League of Legends Classic: All Latest News, Information and Leaks

League of Legends Classic is a new game mode that relives the experience of veteran players. In this game mode, you are taken back to League of Legends in Season 3. You will be playing League of Legends the old way, before many of the champions were added to the game, with the old map and much more. 

In this brief guide, we will discuss what we know so far about LoL Classic. This will be a living article and will be updated frequently as we learn more about this game mode. Right now, it is unclear to what extent Riot will time-warp us back to Season 3 and how long LoL Classic Mode will be around.

In this new game mode, we will have access to the original Summoner’s Rift Map. This map was very green, didn’t have alcoves, and had a different jungle layout. It is quite different from the current Summoners Rift Map.

In Season 3, we had a variety of items, some of which are completely different from what we have in the current game. For example, back in the day, you could have multiple jungle items (looking at you, Master Yi and Udyr). The items from the game back then will be in this game mode.

Similarly, the Rune system, which was awful in Season 3, will return as well. Here is what Riot has said about it:

"In Classic, you’ll unlock both of these just by playing, and there’s no need to upgrade them; they’re all the old Tier 3 as a baseline. You’ll get three to start, an additional two from Classic Levels, and you can buy more for IP, which you get just by playing."

Master Pages will return as well. You’ll have all Mastery pages and points fully unlocked after hitting Classic Level 4.

League Classic will feature a single PvP draft queue, Co-op vs AI, and custom games. There is also a positional preference system that lets you choose the roles you want in order of preference. If you remember Team Builder, it's going to be like that.

Progression

There is a progression system in the game called Summoner’s Journey. Once you hit Classic Level 10, you’ll start your Summoner Journey at Salt, then progress to Wood, and so on, all the way up to Legend.

ARAM Mayhem Classic

ARAM Mayhem Classic is another game mode, where there will be classic items and Augments. Each team will have a separate champion pool, so you could face mirror matchups and mirror champions.

The champions will be playable from LoL Classic and have their modern kits.

There are over 60 champions playable in the new game mode, and the picture below, provided by LeagueOfLeaks, showcases some of them. The list includes: Wukong, Ashe, Garen, Malphite, Pantheon, Taric and many more.

There is no confirmed full list of champions who will be in LoL Classic yet, though.

If you own the champion already, and they're playable in LoL Classic, then you can play them already.

There will be a progression track alongside League of Legends Classic. It will give you things like Masteries, Runes, the Summoner’s Journey, IP, BE, as well as a variety of cosmetics, including the Rustier Blitzcrank skin.

The paid Battle Pass will also grant IP, BE, Rune Pages, emotes, titles, and Classic Skins and Portraits.

What champions are going to be in LoL Classic?

There is no complete list of champions in LoL Classic yet; some champions included will be: Sona, Lux, Ahri, Lulu, Sivir, Katarina, Nidalee and Annie.

When will LoL Classic launch?

There is no confirmation yet on when LoL Classic will launch.

Is LoL Classic a permanent game mode?

There is no news yet on whether LoL Classic will be permanent.
