Synergy in League of Legends is one of the most important factors in determining whether a game is a win or a loss. If your team has poor synergy, or if you pick champions that do not synergise well with one another, it is going to be really difficult to win the game.
Locke, the newest champion on LoL, is a skirmish-heavy champion who is an assassin and wants to get an early lead. Thus, picking champions who can help him snowball and get an early advantage would be highly beneficial to the whole team.
In this guide, we will discuss 5 champions who have good synergy with Locke and who we would recommend you pick with him. While they may not be statistically the best in the current meta, they still have great things in their kit that work well with Locke.

1. Rammus
Rammus is a very strong pick with Locke, as he is a CC machine. Rammus can start ganking very early in the game: after level 3, when he has his E ability. Rammus’ ganks are very easy to get off, and he has a high success rate, especially against enemies without Flash. He is a very simple, non-mechanically difficult champion to play, so if your friend is off-role, he can still perform well with him.
To get a successful gank of Rammus with Locke, the wave should be closer to Locke’s side of the map, as it allows him to run the enemy down the lane. While Rammus is tanky, he is not tanky enough in the early game to dive the enemy Mid Laner. So, Locke needs to keep the wave closer to his side of the map.
If Locke can blow the enemies Flash early, the Rammus should keep ganking him over and over again to get more kills and let Locke snowball from there.

2. Jarvan IV
Another strong pairing with Locke is Jarvan. Jarvan is a strong early skirmishing champion who can successfully gank from level 2 onwards. Post 6, his Ultimate can keep enemies locked down, so he can easily gank and dive the enemy when he gets levels and items under him. Again, Locke should keep the wave closer to his side of the map so the two of them can chase the enemy down the lane.
Jarvan is also a strong invader and skirmisher, and he will often want to invade the enemy's jungle and try to steal their camps. As Locke is also a good skirmishing champion, the two of them can pair up together to invade the enemy’s jungle, or if Jarvan IV gets into trouble, he knows that Locke can follow up and help him as long as he has pressure in lane.
As objectives are extremely important in the LoL meta right now, Locke will have priority if he pushes the wave (after he has some items/levels), and he can help with Rift Herald or Drakes if needed.

3. Amumu
While Amumu may not be an S-tier champion in League of Legends right now, the two of them have great synergy in LoL. Firstly, Amumu can be played in both the Jungle and Support roles, which could be helpful if your ally is off-roled to Support. Secondly, Amumu has lots of CC in his kit with his Q and Ultimate, which means he can lock enemies down, and Locke can follow up and deal lots of damage.
In team fights is where Amumu and Locke really shine, though. Amumu can keep enemies locked down, and Locke can deal the damage while they’re CC chained. One of Locke’s biggest weaknesses is that he needs someone to go in with him, or else he will get blown up and focused. This is prevented by picking a strong teamfighting champion like Amumu! Also, the two of them are very good at fighting around objectives like the Baron or Elder Dragon, and they’re both great in the jungle too. So if you can, try to fight around those parts of the map.
A good Amumu will be looking to make high use of their Ultimate by constantly ganking an ally, preferably someone who will carry whenever their Ultimate is up, so make sure you abuse its cooldown.

4. Malphite
Malphite is an underrated pick in League of Legends. He is very simple to play, but extremely useful as long as he isn’t behind. He can be played in either the Top or Jungle role in League of Legends, and what makes him really strong is his Ultimate and his teamfighting power. While he may not be the strongest champion on our list early, post-6 and in those mid and late game team fights, Malphite can be one of the strongest.
Locke wants someone to go in with him during team fights. If he is the only one going in, then he is going to get focused and killed before he can dish out a lot of damage. That is where Malphite comes in. Malphite can go in with his Ultimate, and Locke can follow up with his E and Q and Ultimate damage to deal lots of damage in the fight. Malphite will offer the CC and protection he needs to win!
Malphite is quite weak early on, so you need to focus on power farming and ganking lanes that are going to result in easy kills if you can’t find anywhere to gank, farm until you get your Ultimate up, as this is a major spike for Malphite.

5. Sejuani
The final champion on our list of best Locke Mid synergy in League of Legends is Sejuani. Sejuani is a good ganker who can gank from level 3 onwards thanks to her Q. In Sejuani’s kit, she has multiple CC tools that enable her to lock her opponents down, which is really good for Locke, as he doesn’t have much CC in his kit. Keeping enemies locked down will enable him to close the gap and dish out damage.
Like Jarvan, Sejuani is also a skirmish-heavy champion who loves to invade, so the two of them could invade the enemy’s jungle together to get some kills or XP. Furthermore, he can also help her easily take the Rift Herald, Grubs and Dragons if he has lane priority, or he can rotate to save them if needed.
Sejuani is at her strongest post 6 when she has her Ultimate. She needs to actively look for ganks with her Ultimate post-6 to make the most of her strong kit. During the mid-game, she needs to be actively looking for plays with Locke to get kills, then pressure objectives like the Baron.
How to Play Sejuani

Remember synergy is always important in LoL, but if you cannot play any of our recommendations, then do not worry about it. It is always better to pick a champion you’re good at and can reliably play rather than someone who you know has a good win rate with Locke.
