Top 5 Best Solo Carry Supports to OTP in Season 26

The Support role is constantly evolving, with a variety of different champions being played there. To climb in League of Legends, you need to pick a champion that is going to be strong, someone you can dominate and carry with, and generally speaking, one-tricking a champion will increase your chances of climbing in Season 26.

In this article, we will discuss 5 of the strongest Support champions you should one-trick in League of Legends to help you climb quickly in Season 26. Buy one tricking any of these champions, you will find yourself dominating your lane opponents and taking over the map. This is the final part of our five-part series of articles on the best one-trick pony champions per role, and if you've missed any of our others, make sure you check them out below!

1) Thresh

The first champion on our list is Thresh. Thresh is a very strong, versatile and play-making Support who I used to main many moons ago. His kit is very versatile, and he can be aggressive while also providing lots of utility for his team to keep them alive. Mastering Thresh is quite challenging, but with practice, you can influence every lane and dominate the game.

During the laning phase, Thresh can get kills by landing a good Hook on the enemy Support or ADC when they misposition. He can also make flashy plays to start fights on unsuspecting targets. Outside of his strong laning phase, Thresh also excels at roaming and helping his allies, which is really important in the 2026 meta.

During the mid and late game, Thresh excels at making plays around the map and catching people out of position, like the enemy Jungler or Support, as they move around the map. His W is also really good during the mid-game, as he can use it to save his allies. One good hook during the later stages of the game can instantly win you the fight.

2) Bard

Bard

Personally, I have never really liked Bard, as his playstyle doesn’t suit my own, but do not let that deter you from picking Bard! Bard is a unique one-trick champion due to his roaming and map impact. His ability to influence multiple lanes makes him highly rewarding. But, he does require strong game sense and understanding of roaming timings.

During the laning phase, Bard needs to balance staying in lane, getting XP and poking the enemy, while also roaming and helping his allies. His Chimes do help him, however. They can make him faster so he can move around the map more easily, and they also empower his abilities and make him stronger. A good Bard should have a high kill participation during the mid-game.

In the late game, Bard needs to go fishing and look for plays with his Ultimat to catch out players who are mispositioned or away from their team. If he can get a good Ult off, his team can collapse on the enemy and take them down. From there, they could take the Drake, Baron or a tower or two.

3) Pyke

Pyke

Unlike some of the other champions on our list, Pyke is a strong snowball champion who excels at getting a snowball going just by getting an early kill or two. His kit allows him to secure kills relatively easily with his Ultimate, which executes enemies below a certain threshold. This makes him a great carry champion and a potential Support to one-trick if you like to deal damage and be an assassin!

During the laning phase, Pyke needs to look for hooks and go for all-in plays when the enemy mispositions. He should remain healthy to maintain some lane presence. If he gets low on health, he has nothing to offer in lane, so you need to find the balance between looking to play aggressively and surviving the lane.

During the later parts of the laning phase, and during the mid and late game, Pyke should look to roam and pick off targets who are alone. He can execute enemies and all-in them when they go to ward or move from lane to lane. In team fights, Pyke is really good at executing low-health enemies or enemies who are out of position. This makes Pyke a really good team-fighting champion in Season 26.

4) Nautilus

Nautilus

Our 4th recommendation to one-trick is ironically another hook champion, Nautilus. Nautilus has the most CC in the game, which means he will fit into basically any team composition. He is always useful, even when he is behind, because his kit has a lot of CC. Nauty Nautilus can lock any target down and start the fight, making him useful throughout all stages of the game.

During the laning phase, Nautilus will look to make plays with his Q to engage on targets when they walk outside of the minion wave or miss position. Post 6, Nautilus will look to roam and help out his allies, and also look for aggressive plays with his Ultimate in lane.

During the mid and late game, Nautilus is actually really strong as his Ultimate will be on a lower cooldown. A good Nautilus will be looking to play around his Ultimate and abusing the cooldown, looking for picks whenever his Ultimate is up. Nautilus is a fantastic choice for any Support main who wants to main a pick champion, and compared to some of the other champions on our list, like Thresh, he is a lot easier.

5) Braum

Braum

The final champion we highly recommend is Braum. Braum is an excellent one-trick champion as his kit has tons of utility and CC to help protect his team. He excels at protecting allies and turning around fights with his Q and auto-attacks. If you don’t really like playing a playmaker like the other 4 champions on our list, Brau could be the option for you, as he is more passive compared to the rest.

During the laning phase, Braum looks to play a bit safer and focuses on having good positioning in lane and protecting his ADC. He should look to “go fishing” with his Q to potentially start small skirmishes. In many matchups, especially against Hook or all-in champions, he will play more reactively compared to aggressively, as he can turn around most skirmishes.

Like the laning phase, the mid and late game is pretty simple for Braum. You stick with your ADC or your other carries and try to protect them from the enemy. By staying at the front of your team, you can block incoming damage and potentially look for picks with your Q or Ultimate. This will help your team to get kills, which you could potentially turn into an objective afterwards. All in all, Braum is really strong, especially in the right matchup.
