For Wukong's runes, we want Armor Penetration since you'll often be facing tanky champions in the top lane or enemies who build Armor. Armor Penetration Marks help your abilities and basic attacks deal more damage against these targets.

Armor Seals and Magic Resist Glyphs provide the defensive stats needed to survive trades and team fights. For Quintessences, we take Flat Attack Damage since Wukong scales extremely well with extra damage and benefits greatly from the additional power early on.

While playing Wukong, you often find yourself diving into fights, dealing a lot of damage while also taking plenty in return. To maximize his damage output, prioritize the Offense tree for the bonus Attack Damage and increased overall damage to his abilities. The Defense tree works well as a secondary choice, providing extra Armor and Health that help him survive trades and perform better during 1v1 duels in lane.
