Top
The top lane meta in League of Legends Classic features a strong mixture of lane bullies, scaling carries and champions that can influence fights across the map.
Jax remains one of the strongest late game threats, while the newly added Shen offers a dependable laning phase, reliable crowd control and global pressure with his ultimate.
Nasus and
Tryndamere remain powerful despite receiving nerfs this patch, although both should be easier to punish during the early game. Kennen is another strong addition thanks to his ranged pressure and teamfighting, while champions such as
Wukong and
Kayle can take over games when allowed to play around their strengths.
Olaf has also improved and shuld now be a much more competitive top lane pick.
Jungle
The jungle meta continues to reward champions that can create early pressure while remaining useful later in the game.
Lee Sin and
Jarvan IV are still two of the strongest choices thanks to their reliable ganks, mobility and ability to set up fights, although Jarvan’s defensive scaling is slightly weaker following his nerfs.
Amumu and
Dr. Mundo are two of the biggest winners of the patch.
Amumu now provides more damage and Magic Resistance reduction, while benefits from better clear speeds, increased Tenacity and stronger healing.
Skarner has also moved up following several useful buffs that improve his slows, shielding and uptime and ability to land Fracture. Meanwhile, carry Jungler such as
Master Yi and
Evelynn remain dangerous when given enough time and resources to scale.
Mid
Mid lane remains one of the most flexible roles in Classic, featuring assassins, control mages and roaming champions capable of influencing the entire map.
Kassadin and
Ahri remain two of the strongest choices, combining mobility with excellent pick potential and the ability to take over games.
Akali is an exciting new addition who can quickly snowball once she gains access to her ultimate, while established picks such as
Annie,
Gragas and
Pantheon continue to offer a strong early kill pressure.
Katarina and
Heimerdinger remain strong despite receiving nerfs, although they should be less oppressive than before.
ADC
The bottom lane meta focuses on champions who have strong all-in and kill pressure throughout all stages of the game. They tend to be somewhat dominant during the laning phase, but once they hit 2 or 3 items, they truly come online.
Vayne is one of the ADCs that gets stronger as the game goes on, and she is a dominant late-game carry.
Mobility is another major factor impacting the bottom lane meta in League of Legends Classic, with many top-tier ADCs having mobility tools in their kit, such as
Ezreal, whose
Arcane Shift is extremely versatile.
Due to the aggressive nature of the Support meta, like
Leona and champions who are poke-heavy, such as
Janna or
Lulu, looking to fight early, champions with mobility, defensive tools or who can farm from far away like
Ashe are strong picks in League of Legends Classic.
Support
Support is in a very healthy spot in League of Legends Classic, with a variety of different champion types being rather strong right now. Most notably, champions with strong all-in or CC tools tend to do well, such as
Leona, who has multiple CC tools in her kit. Versus immobile or squishy ADCs, one good fight or one good
Blitzcrank
Rocket Grab could be the factor that wins you the lane.
While aggression is a dominant factor in the Support role, many utility and enchanter Supports, such as Sona and Janna are quite good in League of Legends Classic. Still, they must be quite abusive and look to harass the enemy ADC or Support frequently to get those early wards and items.
