How to Play
During the laning phase, focus on providing shields and utility to your ADC to keep them topped up with health and alive. Your goal is to scale and look for plays after you’ve got your Ultimate at level 6. If you’re in a bad matchup, just focus on staying alive rather than fighting. You can always use your Ultimate as a disengage tool rather than as a playmaker.
Rush Sightstone as early as possible, then keep purchasing/placing both Green and Pink Wards. During the mid-game, continue protecting and peeling your carries, and make sure you’re placing vision around the Baron as it is about to spawn. Do not go around the map alone, as you’re very squishy and vulnerable to all-in.
Runes Explained
The best Runes for
Sona are 9x Armor Marks, 9x Armor Seals, 9x Magic Resist Glyphs, and 3x Quintessences of Gold. Since
Sona is the squishiest Support in the game, the additional Armor helps to keep her in lane by blocking some enemy auto-attack damage. The Magic Resist Glyphs are key versus AP champions, and the Gold Quints generate additional gold, allowing her to buy and place more wards.
Masteries Explained
Sona is a healing Support, and we will put 21 points into the Utility tree and 9 points in the Defensive tree. We opt for the standard Support Masteries that give us extra gold, a free ward, and improve our ability to provide for our team. As
Sona is very squishy, we will take extra health, armor, and magic resistance to make us less squishy.
