How to Play
Skarner is a farming jungler who becomes much stronger once he has a few levels and items. Clear efficiently using Q while looking for overextended lanes to gank. The movement speed from W can help getting on the enemies while your Q can slow them. You don't want to force early fights against strong junglers like Jarvan and Lee Sin.
Once you have your ultimate, you want to check the scoreboard to see who's the strongest enemy and the biggest threat to your team. Use your flash ult combo to suppress the enemy and even bring them towards your team so they can help finish them off.
Runes Explained
For
Skarner's runes, the main goal is to clear the jungle faster and move around the map more efficiently. Attack Speed Marks help improve his jungle clear speed, allowing him to get through camps quicker and start making plays around the map.
Movement Speed Quintessences are a great choice since they help with ganking, positioning, and overall map control. Armor Seals are important for reducing damage from jungle monsters and helping during early trades, while Scaling Magic Resist Glyphs provide stronger defenses as the game progresses.
Masteries Explained
Playing
Skarner, you're most likely going to be the main tank for your team, so investing heavily into the Defense tree is the best choice. The extra resistances, health, and damage reduction from both jungle monsters and champions help you survive longer and stay effective in fights.
We still want to make an impact across the map, so use the Utility tree as your secondary. The extra Movement Speed and faster Recall help you move around the map more efficiently, create more opportunities, and keep up your jungle pressure.
