How to Play
Nami in League of Legends Classic is relatively similar to current Nami. She excels at poking enemies down with her basic attacks and W, while also providing healing and utility to her allies. Throughout the laning phase, look to abuse the enemy Support and ADC by poking them with your abilities. Unlike current League, Nami cannot spam her abilities, so do not use them unless you need to!
Outside the laning phase, stick to your ADC and avoid roaming alone, as Nami is very squishy and easy to kill. Prioritise Support items that increase your sustain and ability to heal and keep your allies alive. Look for picks with your Q and Ultimate, as they’re very strong team-fighting tools, and if you can pick someone off, then it will help your allies win the game!
Runes Explained
The best Runes for Nami are 9x Armor Marks, 9x Armor Seals, 9x Magic Resistance Glyphs, and then 3x Gold Quints. As Nami is a squishy, utility Support, taking both Armor Marks and Seals is good to help reduce enemy ADC auto-attacks in lane. It will also help during the mid-game when you’re 5v5 fighting. The Magic Resist Glyphs are taken to reduce AP champion damage if you’re laning vs. an AP Support or if the enemy has multiple AP champions.
You can take Gold Quints to increase your passive gold income, Movement Speed Quints if you want to roam more, or Armor Quints if you want to be even tankier. Gold Quints are better, though, as they help you get your core items and wards quicker.
Masteries Explained
As Nami is an enchanter, we will put 21 points in the Utility Tree and 9 points in the Defensive Tree. As Nami is rather mana-hungry and is going to be using her W often, she needs the extra mana regen/sustain so she can use her abilities more frequently. Putting 21 points in the Utility Tree will give us bonus mana, free wards to place, and extra gold, which is going to help us get our items more quickly.
The remaining 9 points will be used to give us extra Armor, MR, and health to protect us from the enemy, as Nami is rather squishy and easy to kill. These 9 points will reduce our chances of getting one-shot!
