How to Play

Lucian in LoL Classic is similar to the Lucian you might play in modern-day League of Legends. Your goal in the laning phase is to focus on farming and look for all-in opportunities to get a health lead. If you’re paired with an aggressive Support like Leona or Alistar, you can look for early plays to get early kills. Outside the very early game, look to farm and trade where possible: keep the wave closer to your side of the map so you can zone the enemy or all-in them when they walk up to last hit.

After the laning phase, move around the map with your Support and try to open it up. Getting kills, towers and objectives is key on Lucian, as he is quite bad when he is behind, and opening up the map will get you more CS and XP. Make sure you’re always with your Support, or you'll get killed, and the enemy could force a fight or take an objective like Drake or Baron. Lucian is quite strong when he gets 2/3 items.

Runes Explained

The best Runes for Lucian are 9x Marks of Attack Damage, 9x Seals of Armor, 9x Glyphs of Magic Resist, and then you can either pick 3x Life Steal Quints or AD Quints. Take AD Marks to increase his damage output while last-hitting or trading. The Armor Seals will help vs enemy AD damage and increase his survivability throughout the laning phase. Since you will face AP champions in either the Support role or Mid, Magic Resist Glyphs are a good option to counter AP damage.

You can choose between AD or Life Steal Quints. I think Life Steal is better, as it increases your sustain throughout the game.

Masteries Explained

Lucian Masteries are standard ADC Masteries. You should go 21-9-0 and focus on AD Masteries that increase your damage output, as this makes getting kills and last-hitting easier, especially early when you don't have much AD. 

After that, we recommend putting 9 points in the Defence Tree for additional defensive stats to increase Lucian’s survivability. With so many burst champions in the game, the Defence Tree is great for keeping you alive and preventing your death!
