LoL Classic - Kassadin Build

Changes for Classic

• Force Pulse (E) requires 6 casts around him to then cast
• Riftwalk (R) can stack 10 times
• Void Stone (P) transforms some magic damage prevented into attack speed

How to Play

The early lane is about surviving. Many ranged mages will bully you before level 6, so concentrate on collecting as much CS as possible without taking unnecessary damage. Use Q to safely poke and prevent damage with its silence.

You want to get Rod of Ages immediately as the Health and Mana you receive help laning phase significantly. Once you unlock your ultimate, the lane changes completely.

You can begin dodging skillshots, forcing trades and looking for kills or roams. Kassadin scales extremely well with items and levels, so don't panic if you're slightly behind early.

Runes Explained

For Kassadin's runes we're taking Magic Penetration Marks so all of his spells deal more damage throughout the game. Kassadin is at his weakest during the early levels, so Armor Seals and Magic Resist Glyphs give him the extra defenses he needs to survive the laning phase and safely farm his way to level 16, where he really starts to shine.

For Quintessences, we take Flat Ability Power for the extra early-game damage, making it easier to last hit and giving your harass a little more punch.

Masteries Explained

While playing Kassadin, the Offense tree works extremely well since he makes great use of the Ability Power and Magic Penetration it provides. Your secondary tree is more of a personal preference. Utility is a great choice thanks to the bonus mana regeneration and faster Recall, allowing you to get back to lane quicker and farm towards your level 16 power spike.

However, Defense is also a solid option since Kassadin is a squishy melee champion during the early game. Depending on your matchup, you can switch your secondary tree to give yourself an easier laning phase.
