How to Play
While playing
Karthus Jungle, your priority is to farm as efficiently as possible and reach your core items. Focus on full clearing whenever you can, using
Lay Waste to clear camps quickly while looking for opportunities to gank overextended lanes. Since you take
Exhaust instead of
Flash, your early skirmishes are much stronger, so don't be afraid to fight if you can force a favorable duel. Don't be afraid to die if it means securing an important kill or objective, as your passive lets you continue dealing damage after death. Once you reach level 6, keep checking the map for low health enemies and use
Requiem to pick up kills and influence fights from anywhere on the Rift.
Runes Explained
For our runes, we're taking a mix of Ability Power and defensive stats to make
Karthus first clear as smooth as possible. Marks are Magic Penetration to increase our damage throughout the game, while Ability Power Quintessences speed up our clear and make our early skirmishes stronger. Our Seals and Glyphs are Armor and Magic Resist, helping us stay healthier in the jungle. If you're against a team that's heavily AD or heavily AP, don't be afraid to swap them out and stack the appropriate resistance instead.
Masteries Explained
For
Karthus Jungle, we'll be taking the Offense tree to maximize our damage output. Every point of Ability Power, Magic Penetration, and bonus damage helps you clear camps faster while making your ganks and
Requiem much more threatening throughout the game.
For your second tree, we'll be taking Utility. The extra mana regeneration is incredibly valuable during your early jungle clear, letting you use
Lay Waste freely without worrying about running out of mana.
