How to Play

When playing Karma, your main focus early on will be playing around your cooldowns to harass the enemy, while also focusing on farming and gaining as much CS and XP as possible. Do not spam your abilities as you will quickly run out of mana, as Karma is very mana hungry! Once you reach level 3 and unlock your main abilities, you can start looking to trade more effectively with the enemy.

Pre-6, you’re quite vulnerable and squishy, especially when your core spells are down. This is why you need to keep the wave on your side of the map early on. When you get your first item, use your Q so it pokes the enemy champion and the minion wave at the same time so you can push the enemy and poke at the same time.

Runes Explained

The best Runes for Karma are standard AP/Mage Runes. You should take Magic Pen Marks as it breaks through the enemy's defensive stats, making your abilities hurt more. I would then recommend Armor Glyphs because you never know who you’re going to face. Most teams will have multiple AD champions, so the Armor Seals will help protect you from their damage. You'll also be playing against AP champions, so you should take Magic Resistance Glyphs.

As Karma is an AP Champion, make sure you take AP Quints for flat additional AP damage. This will make your abilities hurt even more and make trading far more favourable.

Masteries Explained

Karma should take 21 points in the Offense Tree. She will be taking AP-related Masteries as she is an AP Champion. These Masteries will increase her damage output, making her Q poke hurt even more, and also help her last-hit minions more easily. The reduced cooldowns and increased damage output are key on Karma.

For her secondary Masteries, she should take the Utility Tree. Your main focus will be getting extra mana regen in lane to help you last-hit and poke the enemy down.
