How to Play

Blitzcrank is a playmaking Support who should be looking to catch either the enemy ADC or Support when they misposition.

Your goal is to go for picks with your Q and then blow the enemy up with your ADC. As many ADCs have mobility spells, it is a good idea to try to get them to use this ability first and then engage while it is on cooldown.

Blitzcrank should look to get a Sighstone as quickly as he can, and he needs to constantly buy and place Green and Pink Wards.

As the game develops, he will be spending the majority of his economy on these items and other utility items. Your mid and late game is similar to the laning phase, where you will look for picks with your Q on the squishy opponents.

Runes Explained

The best Runes for Blitzcrank are 9x Armor Marks, 9x Armor Seals, 9x Magic Resist Glyphs, and 3x Movement Speed Quintessences.

As a melee Support, the bonus Armor helps reduce damage from enemy auto attacks, and the Magic Resist Glyphs protect against AP damage throughout the game. Movement Speed Quintessences are taken to help Blitzcrank roam between lanes and get back to the lane quicker.

Masteries Explained

Blitzcrank is a tank Support that wants to create picks and play aggressively. This is why we recommend taking a mix of Offense, Defense, and Utility.

We take 1 point in Offense to improve the effectiveness of Ignite and Exhaust, which increases our chances of getting kills in lane. The remaining points are split between Defense for extra durability when fighting, and Utility for bonus gold, mana, and vision.
