Changes for Classic

• Trample (P) and Triumphant Roar (E) have swapped

How to Play

During the early game, your goal is to look for aggressive plays with your ADC to get an early lead. Get level 2 first, which is the first 9 minions, and then look to play aggressively with your W>Q combo. If you can repeat this over and over, then you can get some kills quickly. On your first back, get some wards and boots so you can start to roam around the map.

In the mid-game, look to protect your ADC and your teammates: using your W>Q combo to catch out enemies who are mispositioned or are too far forward. Make sure you’re constantly playing both Green and Pink Wards, especially when major objectives are about to spawn.

Runes Explained

The best Runes for Alistar are 9x Armor Marks, 9x Armor Seals, 9x Magic Resist Glyphs, and 3x Movement Speed Quintessences. As they are a melee Support, taking the extra Armor will protect them from enemy auto-attacks and keep them healthier in lane.

We take Magic Resist Glyphs in case we are against an AP Support, or if the enemy Mid is AP. As Alistar is a roaming Support, we will take Movement Speed Quints to help us move around the map.

Masteries Explained

Alistar is a tank Support that wants to play aggressively. This is why we recommend taking a mix of Offence, Defence and Utility. We are taking 1 point in Offense for the bonuses we get on our Ignite and Exhaust, which help us get kills.

Outside of that, it’s standard Defense Masteries to get extra defensive stats to help us when we go in, and then points in Utility such as extra gold, vision and mana so we can get our items more quickly.
