Zed Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths

Can catch enemies unaware with his Living ShadowW Shadow SlashE Razor ShurikenQ combo, especially when the enemy is busy last hitting a minion. This combo does a lot of damage and can force the enemy to play defensively.

His Living ShadowW allows him to escape from sticky situations and ganks with ease. It also allows him to set-up kills for himself once he has managed to poke his enemy down.

His Passive allows him to finish off low health enemies with ease. When combined with his Living ShadowW, he becomes a really strong roamer who can camp lanes with squishy targets.

Weaknesses

Once he uses his Living ShadowW offensively, he won’t have any other form of escape left to him. This leaves him vulnerable to ganks and baits from the enemy team.

His Ultimate Death MarkR does no bonus damage to an enemy target if he misses his abilities on them, or if his entire damage is absorbed by a shield.

It becomes hard for him to secure kills later in the game due to every enemy building defensive items and peeling for their carries. Team fights are not his cup of tea and hence he has to resort to split pushing, leaving the enemy team at a numbers advantage.

Game plan
Early game
0 - 15 min
Zed is Strong

Your goal in the laning phase is to abuse the enemy and get kills. Try to play aggressive when suitable to get an early lead.

Use your strong 1v1 potential to roam around the map and help your allies secure kills. If you can get kills and help your allies, your chances of winning the game will be much higher.

Once your allies have rotated to the mid lane, rotate to a different lane and split push. It’s important that you do not fall behind in CS and XP by staying mid when there are lots of other champions there.

Mid game
15 - 25 min
Zed is Strong

Flank in team fights to make getting on the enemy backline easily. Make sure you’re near your team at all times so you can get in the fight fast.

After your bot lane has moved to the mid lane, rotate to the bot side of the map or somewhere else on the map so you can continue to farm and gain XP.

As you’re good at getting picks and killing isolated targets, try to ambush and assassinate enemies who are alone or walking around Summoners Rift alone. After killing someone, make the call for a nearby objective.

Late game
25+ min
Zed is Weak

In the late game, look for picks on immobile or miss positioned enemies. Taking someone down in the late game can give you enough time to force a fight, siege an objective or take the Baron or Elder Dragon.

If the enemy is grouping, look to group with your team too. In team fights, continue to focus the squishiest and easiest to kill high priority targets in the backline.

Power Spikes
Early game0 - 15 min

The first item procurement will make Zed a deadly champion to deal with. He should be looking to roam to other lanes and clean up kills on low-health/overstaying enemies.

Level 3 is a decent power spike as Zed will now have access to his overall burst combo. He can quickly go for short burst trades and proc his runes with these abilities. He can spam them quite fast as well since he is not dependent on mana.

Level 6 is a significant power spike for Zed. This is where he unlocks his full potential and can make the plays and the moves to make enemies wonder what that was. He should also be able to dive low health enemies and escape unscathed.

Mid game15 - 25 min

Zed has an effortless time killing anyone who is wandering alone in the rift. He can also set up tower dives on squishy bot laners quite frequently. He just needs to shove his wave in before roaming.

At level 11, Zed will have two points in his Ultimate Death MarkR. This means that his one-shot potential will be increased massively, and he will be able to destroy isolated enemies with ease.

At level 9, Zed will have his first ability maxed out. This means that he will be dealing tons of damage to the enemy target, mainly if he uses his Ultimate Death MarkR on someone.

Late game25+ min

This is the point of the game where Zed will have a lot of difficulty taking enemies down. This is because enemies will buy defensive items from now. Still, Zed should try to go for isolated targets when possible.

At level 16, he will have his Ultimate Death MarkR maxed out. This means that he will deal massive amounts of damage to squishier targets and will decimate anyone who has been caught out alone/

Zed will have really low cooldowns now, and he can deal a lot of damage due to that. This means that he will be the bane of squishier targets on the enemy team, and he can get rid of them quickly.
