Vayne will have the range advantage in the lane in most matchups. She will be able to abuse the enemy and deny them from the farm.
Vayne scales incredibly well into the later parts of the game. As long as she isn’t behind, she will be really good in the late game.
She is magnificent versus tank teams and tank champions, thanks to her W.
If the enemy has lots of CC, it will be hard for Vayne to do too much as she can easily get shut down by CC.
If Vayne falls behind in the early game, you will find it hard to do well in the later stages of the game.
She is mechanically challenging to play as one mistake/misstep can get her killed immediately. Crowd control is her mortal enemy, and her enemies can get rid of her as soon as she is crowd controlled.

Go for regular short trades with your Q > auto-attack in this lane. You may want to use the lane brushes quite liberally for this purpose.
Your E will be your best friend in the lane if you're dealing with a tank early on. Ensure that you save it from getting the enemy away from you if they manage to land their CC on you.
Getting your Ultimate R will help you a lot and will allow you to mince through tanks quite easily. Just ensure that your positioning is correct.

Your main goal is to scale up during this phase of the game. You should be fighting more frequently, though, as you will be hurting a lot once your core items are completed.
During fights, always stick with your team as you want to be protected while damaging enemies. Avoid getting pinned near a wall while doing so, though.
When fighting for neutral objectives, it is important to stay back and wait for the enemy team to pass through the choke points before going for a full all-in on them. Let your front liners engage before doing anything.

You should be able to slice through the entire enemy team like a hot butter knife. Just make sure that you don't misposition and get caught out while doing so, though.
You may work with your team to get picks in the enemy Jungle, but you should try your best to be in a side lane and chase down careless enemies who decide to farm the sidewave.
Getting a defensive item should help you increase your survivability against burst damage and assassination attempts. Use your Ultimate R invisibility wisely as well since it can bamboozle enemies quite easily if used properly.
Vayne has great trading potential but needs a lot of time to scale due to the nature of her kit. The longer the game goes, the greater her chances of solo carrying her team to victory.
Level six is a massive early game spike as she can now look for aggressive all-ins on the enemy. It is effortless for Vayne to bamboozle the enemy top laner now due to her invisibility. She can even use it to evade ganks.
The first item component will surely give Vayne a massive boost in dueling. She will need to use the lane brushes to ensure that she can compensate for her short range.
Her first ability will be maxed out at level nine. From this point, she will start hitting like a truck as her Q will be up very quickly in the game. This and her E will make it impossible for a single enemy top laner to catch her.
Getting two points in her Ultimate R will cause her to spike again. It will help her a lot in team fights, especially when the enemy team is filled with heavy CC champions.
She will have her core items by now, which means that she will deal a respectable amount of damage. She can even duel enemies if she masters her Q usage.
Vayne shines during the late game as she can run down enemies due to her Q and W. All she needs to do is to avoid getting CC'd.
A fully maxed out Ultimate R will give a massive power spike to Vayne. This is absolutely necessary to win the game and will allow Vayne to dish out tons of damage.
Vayne will have multiple items by now, which means that she will be hitting enemies like a truck. A defensive item should allow her to solidify her position as the primary carry of the team.
