Overview

Project R.I.S.E has just released their beta test period, running from August 19th to 2nd September 2026. Before jumping in, it's very important that you know how to play, and also how to rank up! In this guide we'll go over that, along with some other helpful tips.

Understanding The Controls

At the center of every battle in Project R.I.S.E is your control scheme. It serves as the delivery method for dishing out attacks, and moving around the battlefield. The basic control inputs to know are:

Movement Analog = Used with your left hand primarily to move your characters around the map

Light Attack = Used for basic pressure, hits charge up your Heavy Attack Bar

Heavy Attack = Tap and Hold, then time it correctly before releasing for the perfect attack

Skill = Fires off your character's dedicated skill (unique for each class)

Prestige Levels Explained

As you level up your classes in Project R.I.S.E, you'll slowly start unlocking permanent upgrades for them known as Prestige Levels. There are 5 tiers for each unique character, all of which will contribute to the end goal of making them permanently stronger.

The kicker here is that the resources needed to upgrade the Prestige Level of each hero will be locked behind specific floor milestones within the tower. For this reason, you'll be better off spreading your focus across numerous heroes early on, as opposed to instantly trying to fully prestige on hero in particular.

Tower Climbing Explained

Much like other Supercell games such as Clash Royale, it's important to note that Project R.I.S.E also has a leaderboard, referred to as the tower. You'll be trying to progress through this system almost the entire time you're playing. Here's a brief overview of how the tower works.

Starting Your Climb

Starting a climb in R.I.S.E, you'll begin by selecting a path up through the tower. For the duration of the beta, you'll only be able to select the Brave path. Eventually at launch, you'll be able to select additional paths to take, as pictured below.

If you wish to unlock further paths as shown in the image, you'll first need to complete the Brave path with at least one hero. After that, the second path must be completed with at least 2 heroes.

An important detail in the game is that paths will also get harder and longer, making it important to upgrade your hero as you go along, ensuring that it matches the path you have chosen. Not doing so will result in great difficulty when trying to ascend in the tower.

Tower Difficulty Breakdown

Tower Difficulty Progression

Presuming you successfully defeat a floor within the tower, you'll be presented with a perk/upgrade you can choose for your hero before proceeding to the next floor. These upgrades can (and usually will) provide the hero with a new ability to use for the next floor.

Once the floor has been cleared and the upgrade has been taken, you'll then move to the next floor in the tower. At this point, your team votes on which floor you'll tackle next. This can be a tough decision to make, as each floor has its own difficulties that come with it, and also valuable rewards upon completion.

Be careful when climbing! If one of the heroes on your team gets knocked out at any point during the floor, your team will get a skull - a scaling variable that at max capacity, will activate a modifier for the following floor. However if you can survive the floor without letting the counter hit the max capacity, it will be cleared out.

Lastly, climbing the tower will record your score depending on how high you're able to go. This all contributes to an overall rank, which the game calculates based off of your 3 highest climbs. At the end of each shift, you'll earn a currency known as Trader Tokens based off of your best rank, which can then be spent in-game.

Conclusion

There you have it! That's your beginner breakdown on how to get started in Project R.I.S.E, and how progression works in the game! The beta runs until early September, so jump in and level up your heroes as you climb through dangerous tower floors!
