How to Gear Up Quickly - Mistfall Hunter

Overview

Mistfall Hunter is a dark-fantasy PvPvE extraction ARPG from developer Bellring Games. As in most extraction games, when you die out in the mist everything you were carrying is lost - including all gear you found.

Without good gear you're more likely to fall victim to the various nasties in the mists, both players and NPCs alike. Whether you're looking to take that next step and push your character to their limits, or if you're just getting started and not sure how to level up your loadout, here is how you get gear fast in Mistfall Hunter.

Mistfall Hunter Gear Guide

Auction House

The best way to get all the gear you need in Mistfall Hunter is through the auction house. Here, you'll be able to search for and purchase whatever gear you need to fill in the blanks in your loadout. You can find all quality gear in the AH, so this method remains the best for both low level players and end-game hunters.

Of course, buying gear on the AH costs money - the higher level the gear or the rarer the item you're after, the more expensive it will be. To fully use the AH for acquiring gear you'll need a reliable source of income. Fortunately, we've put together a guide that teaches you how to get gold fast.

The TL;DR:

  • Go into Chaos Mode
  • Loot everything
  • Buy bargains from Richie the Merchant
  • Do Blue quests
  • Pick apart high treasure zones
  • Sell on the AH

Exploration Tasks

If you're looking to acquire gear for yourself, you'll want to hit up the Exploration Tasks represented by the blue exclamation marks on your map. These tasks are simple, always the same (although the selection of tasks rotates in and out), and usually don't take too much time.

Enriched Resource Zones

The enriched resource zones, highlighted with the gold outline on your map, are areas that yield higher than average quality loot, including a chest that requires unlocking by defeating nearby enemies. These areas, and especially the chest, are well worth your time to find good loot including powerful bits of weapons and gear.

Elites

The tougher opponents across the map also have a higher chance of dropping quality loot. You'll no doubt have come across a few on your excursions, and these enemies are easily identified by the glowing icon above their heads. They are tougher to take down but well worth the potential rewards for doing so.

Enemy Players

Ultimately the potentially best way to get loot is to steal it from other players. This comes with a few caveats, however, and is most certainly not the most reliable method.

Firstly, you have to be able to defeat an enemy player with better gear than you for you to then take it and use it yourself. If the enemy has better gear, there's a very good chance it will be a tougher fight than you are prepared for and the chances of success will be slim.

Secondly, you have to actually find an opponent of the same class as you to even be able to use the gear they drop. If you're a Mercenary and encounter a Sorcerer, unfortunately all that spell casting gear won't fit your beefy unga bunga body.

Combat Bags

Lastly, a solid way to get a complete gear set is to acquire one of the various Combat Bags. These come in different rarities that correspond with the tier of gear held within - the common Combat Bags give common gear, the Legendary bags give legendary gear, and so on.

You can find these by having the Scavenger Squad complete expeditions, with higher rarity Combat Bags dropping from the more challenging expeditions. Additionally, you can exchange Echoes of Fate in the Destiny Map for different Combat Bags. These Echoes are obtained from playing the game and completing tasks such as acquiring Gyldenblood and successfully extracting.
