Stealth Archer Build - Enshrouded 1.0

Updated on Oct 15, 2026
Oct 15, 2026

Overview

This Enshrouded 1.0 Stealth Archer build combines ranged bow damage with dagger sneak attacks and backstabs. Ranger skills provide the main damage tools, while Assassin skills reward careful positioning and give you options when enemies close the gap.

The build suits players who enjoy moving around a fight, opening from stealth, and switching weapons to exploit an enemy’s position. It relies on dodging and creating space, so staying mobile is essential.

Thanks to ItalianSpartacus for sharing the build and gameplay tips used in this guide.

Ranger Skills

Build around Dexterity, bow damage, and the skills that let you keep attacking while moving. Your main bow tools are:

  • Bow Specialization: Unlocks your bow’s special ability, giving you another attack to use once you have generated enough Focus.
  • Multi Shot: Regular arrow shots have a 20% chance to fire a spreading flurry of arrows.
  • Bee Sting: Aiming or firing your bow in the air briefly slows your fall. Each shot also lifts you slightly, allowing you to spend more time attacking before landing.

Bee Sting is particularly useful when enemies are approaching your position. Jump, fire while descending, and move again when you land. The extra airtime gives you a window to attack, but you still need to watch incoming projectiles and your landing position.

For explosive arrows, take the supporting effects that increase damage when several targets are hit and can create secondary explosions. Ricochets rewards hitting multiple targets, while Chain Reaction can produce smaller follow-up blasts.

Keep the different arrow interactions in mind. Multi Shot’s base effect applies to regular arrows; Multi Shot Trigger enables its interaction with special arrows. Explosive-arrow bonuses and the Multi Shot flurry are separate effects.

Assassin Skills and Backstabs

The Assassin side supports stealth openings and close-range flanking. Pick up Dexterity along the route and focus on these skills:

  • Backstab Mastery: Improves damage dealt from behind.
  • Sneak Attack: Gives you a powerful opening attack when you approach an unaware enemy.
  • Strategic Maneuver: Changes your dodge into a sideways roll while you have an enemy locked on, helping you move around them and reach their back.

Use your daggers to perform Sneak Attack against an unaware enemy. Bows cannot trigger this skill, but shots that hit an enemy from behind can still deal backstab damage.

Once combat begins, keep looking for opportunities to move behind enemies and benefit from your backstab bonuses.

With daggers equipped, lock onto an enemy and use Strategic Maneuver to roll around their attacks. Strike when you reach their back, then reposition before they turn on you. Kick provides another close-range option for pushing an enemy back and creating breathing room.

Weapons, Arrows, and Armor

Use a bow as your main weapon and keep dual daggers ready for stealth attacks and melee openings. Carry regular arrows for general bow attacks and explosive arrows for situations where you can catch several enemies together.

Eternal arrows offer another option. They consume mana instead of a limited supply of ammunition and can be upgraded. They become more practical when your setup also supports mana recovery.

For armor, look for bonuses that support your damage and movement:

  • Ranged and piercing damage for your bow attacks.
  • Cutting damage where it benefits your dagger attacks.
  • Stamina and stamina regeneration to support repeated movement and attacks.
  • Useful skill ranks that strengthen the abilities your build actually uses.

Check the skill bonuses on individual armor pieces as well as their basic protection. Equipment can contribute ranks to skills such as Puncture, Fatal Precision, Ranger, Marksman, Vitality Surge, Blessed Arrows, and Swiftshot Sustenance. Those contributions appear in the skill tree, helping you see how much of a skill’s strength comes from your equipment.

Weapon Upgrades and Gems

Keep your weapons upgraded as you progress. Salvage unwanted equipment for Runes, then visit a crafting NPC with the relevant item-upgrade service.

Each upgrade costs Runes and unlocks another of the weapon’s listed upgrade bonuses. Check those bonuses when comparing weapons, since the benefits available through upgrades are part of the item’s value.

Compatible weapons can also gain extra effects through weapon gems, which you socket using a Gem Forge. Read each gem’s trigger condition before committing to it.

How to Play the Stealth Archer

Start by checking which enemies you can approach without being noticed. Wait for a target to face away, then choose between a bow shot from behind and a dagger Sneak Attack. A strong opening can remove a weaker enemy or leave a tougher one easier to finish.

Once enemies are alerted, use the following approach:

  1. Create room to shoot. Move away from approaching melee enemies and avoid letting several targets surround you.
  2. Attack while airborne. Jump and use Bee Sting to fire during your slower descent. Explosive arrows are especially useful when enemies are close enough together to share the blast.
  3. Use your bow’s special ability. Spend your built-up Focus when you have a clear opportunity to land the attack.
  4. Switch to daggers for a flank. Against an enemy you can safely engage, lock on and roll around them with Strategic Maneuver. Attack their back, then move again.
  5. Disengage when the position becomes unsafe. Retreat, jump, or use your glider where the terrain allows it. Find another firing angle before committing to more attacks.

Treat stealth as a way to choose your opening. After enemies detect you, the build becomes a mobile mix of ranged attacks and opportunistic melee damage.

Parrying can help when an enemy gets close, but daggers have a tighter parry window than a sword-and-shield setup. If you are struggling with the timing, put more emphasis on dodging and maintaining distance.

Avoid spending all your stamina chasing one more attack. You need enough left to reposition when another enemy joins the fight or your current target turns toward you.

Optional Mana Archer Variant

If you prefer more sustained ranged combat and magical support, you can adapt the build by reducing your Assassin investment and putting more points into mana and utility.

Keep the Ranger foundation, then consider:

  • Eternal arrows: Shift ammunition use toward mana, making mana recovery more important.
  • Blink: Replaces your dodge roll with a short teleport. It also replaces Strategic Maneuver’s sideways roll, so it changes how you reposition.
  • Necromancer: Can summon a friendly skull companion after a kill with a magic weapon. Its trigger requires a qualifying magic-weapon kill.
  • Summoning and protective spells: A staff gives you access to options such as summoned skeletons, totems, and defensive support.
  • A healing aura: Adds passive recovery and can help nearby teammates in co-op.

Summons can take some pressure off you while you find a shooting position. However, Eternal arrows and support spells both draw on your mana, so balance those costs before relying heavily on both.

Treat this as an alternative direction for the build. The bow-and-dagger version puts more emphasis on stealth openings and flanking; the magic variant spends more of its resources on ranged uptime and support.
